It's hard to find but FR is an island in the Sea of Memes. This is his second Internet map, the first iirc was social sites by size. I think this one is by daily use (so Facebook is huge).
I have pinged him as to why FR was an island in the sea of memes when it really belongs in The ocean of Opinion with Kos, Huff, Hot Air and American Thinker.
xkcd is a web strip about math and science and other interesting topics.

FR is pretty easy to find. I manage to do so every day.

Pinged who? Am I expected to provide a blog hit for someone in order to find out?
One of my favorite strips. Sometimes a little bit - well, a lot - obscure. I took that location as a reflection on FR’s influence in popular culture but it may have simply been a misplacement.
The location kind of makes sense, FR isn’t a blog, per-say, but it did define early political activism on the net, thus creating its own meme. Also, it has created a lot of memes that are common around the web.
Are you series? I'm stuned!
Is that a host in the sun? Scarmable!
Taking down Rather was what made the dinosaur media spend countless salary $s watching us. If they want to call that a ‘meme’, ok.
Stick your blog where the sun doesn’t shine!
What the hell is an meme?
“What the hell is an meme?”
I think it is a name some kids call their grand mother.
I thought it was every other word on Obama’s teleprompter.
That and, “I, I, I...”
No, FR along with Reddit and Delicous are in the Sea of Memes because so many of them start with these sites.
I have no idea what a tourist guy is either.
I won’t look at wickipedia under any circumstances.
A fair number of the jokes are math/technology related, but they are almost always funny.
For example:

For example:
It’s not a blog, it’s not my site, it’s an online comic strip with an interesting map on it.
Not a blog, and not mine. It’s an online comic strip that many freepers might enjoy.
And thank you for the polite suggestion, but no.
This is the Tourist Guy.
He is around FR a lot.

Here is the Urban dictionary’s explanation.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=internet+meme
“Beeber” and “Viking Kitties” are memes.
A completely new concept, usually created on the internet. For example, a “ping” is a meme. It sometimes is a word or phrase, other times it is an image based concept (looter guy for example) or it can be something to describe an entirely new system. Some meme’s that are (were) unique to FR include:
Viking Kitties
Spork Weasel
Stuned Beeber
..the list goes on and on..
