As a card-carrying member of the retired troops of America, I think I'll pass this one up the chain to the governors, congress-critters, attorneys general, justices, service chiefs, service Sec's, SecDefs, and CINCs of the world: F-
That's your grade for the arrogant sleaziness with which you ignored the right of our troops to vote.
(Please, Lord, keep me from cursing these politicos who love party or position more than country. Instead, may You undercut their personal agendas in proportion to their individual guilt in disregarding our troops' right to vote.)
Here's a remedy freely offered. Let's stimulate the air transport industry with your billions of left-over stimulus funds. It will take a simple stroke of the pen, but it will require a massive movement of bodies.
Authorize "vote leave" for all troops unable to vote absentee because our system just can't manage to get them their ballots on time.
Starting now. Let them fly home to get their own ballot at their own authorized voting location. Let them cast that ballot, and then load them back on a plane and send them again to our far-flung fields of war to risk their lives for our freedoms.
That are denied to them.
Sounds reasonable.
I agree. Much more reasonable than disenfranchising the very ones who are dying.
government goodies don’t “stimulate” anything
mega dittoes
methinks you missed the sarcasm
Can you imagine having 2 years to fix a problem with mail delivery and not being able to get it done?
I’ve seen troops on the battlefield in the middle of combat get mail that was only a few days old.
There isn’t a company 1SG in the entire US Army that could not have fixed this on his own in about a month.
Good idea X.
Maybe if they won’t do that 20 or 30 million of US could volunteeer as proxy voters.
EXCLUSIVE: New York Violating MOVE Act
Another good idea!
Allow the troops to give a power of attorney to a parent or other next of kin to vote on their behalf.
Time to complete paperwork: minutes.
Military vote PING

Outrage at what is not incompetence but is probably conspiracy
A politician flies 1st class; a soldier flies in a C130.
A politician's pension is not reduced; a soldier's is clawed 65%.
A politician enjoys an expense account; a soldier must justify extra rations.
A politician vows to defend their country; ......a soldier actually keeps that promise.
good lines, Mom. Thanks.
Just as long as that power of attorney goes to as many next of kin as possible. I would let our active duty protectors (being denied the right to vote) vote 20-30 times. Just to prove a point.
:>)
The Chicago Plan!@
All hell needs to be raised over this outrage.
Anyone complicit in obstructing absentee ballot voting by military personnel belongs in leg irons. And there’s a bunch of those.
Bad as that is, I know Democrat voters who think it is fine and dandy to keep members of the armed forces from voting.
AMEN!
Each state has many lawyers at hand as does the US AG and there's no way it could be that these voting rights are be denied because of incompetence. It has to be a conspiracy between the DOJ and some states because almost exclusively it's the blue states that are causing the problems.
The only reasonable explanation of this problem, and it’s not really a problem, because it’s only about mail delivery, is that this is the result of a conspiracy of incompetence.
In light of that, these politicians truly are guilty of violating the right of American citizens to vote, and they truly should be imprisoned. Leg irons would be just about right.
