After witnessing Governor Chris Christie in action these last 10 months or so, there is one inescapable conclusion that his ardent fans have been drawing. He is the next George Washington.
Christie artfully browbeats union reps, hecklers and teachers alike. He has sliced the budget and he is as quick on his feet as anyone in politics since Giuliani in his heyday.
Granted, Washington as a young man surveyed huge swaths of often hostile frontier-land and participated in the French and Indian wars as a young soldier and officer, rising to become commander of all Virginia's armed forces. He became active in VA politics, and was one of the most respected figures in colonial Virginia. He led the newly declared country to victory in a brutal and protracted war with the world's greatest empire, never fearing for his own safety on the battlefield. Though speaking little, he was a critical presence at the constitutional convention, where the greatest constitution ever was hammered out. He set the standard for evenhandedness, deliberation, and conservatism while leading his fledgling country through its first 8 years of the grandest experiment in history.
Just like Washington, Christie is a legend in his own time. He lived a happy and safe childhood in Livingston NJ. His supporters point out again and again that Christie's reasonably successful work as a Bush appointed US prosecutor coupled with his prior hit and miss forays into local politics makes him the best qualified man for the Whitehouse since old George. And with his keen insight into the proper channels for gun control his savvy 'green' streak, it may be that Mr. Christie will even surpass the old Virginian.
All we can say is our country is lucky to find such men every 200 or so years.
This is a joke, right?
You had me worried there for a second.
Let’s not go overboard here. No he is not.
He’s a good guy, so far. Don’t be stupid and start building him up to be more than he is, or that he’s just so freakin awesome. We don’t need hero worship. We just need good men and women. You want to hero worship, go be a democrat. The days of thinking that our current leaders can do nothing wrong and we must defend them at all costs, is over. They are all imperfect, they all have problems, some have more than others. Let the historians 50 years down the road after they are dead look back and idolize them. Not now.
I don’t know, but it’s a pleasure to watch him rip into the rude, whiny teacher in this video:

You're moving to New Jersey to vote for his re-election to Governor?
Well ok, but you really won't have to crawl over razor wire and cluster bombs to do that. Just get an address and register to vote.
I went to the wikipedia article on him, and looked at his positions.
Seems *really* soft on lots of issues.
I guess he is a conservative for NJ.
But come on, he is soft on illegal immigration!
First, Palin is the next Reagan, now Christie is the next Washington.
LMAO
Put down the bong already!
He has the no BS style. I’d like to see him straighten out NJ.My vote seemed to be worth something last year.
:puke:
He has some very good qualities, but I think pissant is pulling our leg, if you read his entire post.
I’m very wary of the cult of personality that’s infecting both parties.
Shhhh
Chris Christie reminds me of this...

Not until he crosses the Delaware.
LOL!
After I posted that initial post, I thought, “Wait a minute, this IS Pissant, after all...” :P
Thanks for that. Had to watch the entire 9 minute video where Christie destroyed the lunatic liberal with facts instead of relying on emotional crap.
The last part was the best..about the email for praying for Christie’s death. Just shows that Christie will never, ever back down from a fight.
Would that Christie had Palin’s beauty and more red meat for us Constitutionalists, Christie could be a great get.
He’s not short on rhetoric, but he is a whale tamer on action, that speaks a heck of lot louder than words. Frankly, I’m looking for action and Christie has stayed in the trenches, in office, to actually blow the nation’s mind with his conservative can-do against the unions. The rest employ handlers and are making a nice living on constructed talk designed by their paid consultants, just like Obama did. Not buyin’ yet here. Looking for a real resume. Show me.
He reminds me more of the character Morgan Freeman played in Lean On Me.
Classic video.
Wikipedia is biased, I think.
