Not long ago, one related thread discussed the longevity of canned items. The conclusion was that, as long as the can is not damages (rust, corrosion, severe dents) and/or is not bowing at the ends (indicative of botulism or contamination), the contents are consumable. The flavor may have suffered, but the edibility has not.
