This is why the homeschoolers in the early days were looking for books before 1965 or earlier. Get away from the revisionist history and the politicization of learning. If you could find books from the 50’s, even better.
I have an old encyclopedia from 1955. I got the Robinson disks. I have the McGuffey’s Readers that were republished.

And if anyone posts “fight the schools” what do you think has been going on since the 60’s?? Here in California, the unions OWN the schools. In the 80’s there were fierce battles to get Christians on schools boards. The unions won that one years ago. They have the money. And NOT ENOUGH parents pay enough attention as to WHAT their children are being taught.
It is up TO YOU, to teach your children.

For decades textbooks have offered up politically correct views of history. When my kids were in grade school their history texts went out of their way almost to the point of fabrication of facts to play up the role of African Americans and Native Americans in the American Revolution making them at least equal in importance to Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and other Founding Fathers. Now Islam is the darling of the PC crowd.
