Ex-Word Not The Insult Dems Intended

For most of the past two years, President Barack Obama and his congressional cronies have called the GOP the party of no. They of course meant it as an insult and hoped saying it over and over (and over) would gain them political traction. But they weren't listening to the majority of the American people who wanted Republicans to put up as strong an opposition to the Obama agenda as their minority status allowed. The voters didn't just want Republicans to be the party of no; they wanted them to be the party of absolutely not.

Careful, most pubbies think Goldwater came up with that one.

“Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” - Marcus Tullius Cicero.

In the course of checking this quotation, in case I remembered it incorrectly from my prior life, I came across this rather amusing poll, from a website concerning the classical virtues:

What ancient form of execution would you LEAST prefer?

Buried alive
Crucifixion
Flayed alive
Scourged to death
Stung/bitten to death by insects
Slow disembowelment
Roasted on grill
Dragged from chariot
Torn apart by wild beasts
Rolled downhill inside spiked barrel
Death of a thousand cuts

I think I’d have to say being flayed alive... I think you’d probably remain conscious longer for that one than most of the rest.
