“But unless Im reading Cheney wrong, that doesnt really fit with him. He seems like a guy who loves this country and is willing to say things exactly as he sees them regardless of where the political chips may fall. Much more so than GW.”
Rush thought the same thing about Cheney. He and Cheney were dear friends. Guess what got in the way? Safe borders. No patriot would be opposed to safer borders. That one issue destroyed Rush’s friendship with the Vice President. Their bickering was on live radio, and so far as I know, they still haven’t mended that bridge.
I still think that Cheney and Bush are good men, but they are actually convinced that the public is too simplistic sometimes. They have ruling class friends who convince them to solve problems in convoluted ways that leave us in the Country Class frustrated and confused.
Yeah, I think that’s probably accurate.
But GW Bush at the time that the run on the bank happened seemed almost hysterical. He was saying that the entire western economy would be destroyed if TARP wasn’t passed. Something had definitely rattled his cage. He was speaking in apocalyptic terms.
And in the middle of all that Chavez and Castro were saying that since capitalism had failed the world should try communism.
Ahmadinejad (and I think maybe some of the other Islamist leaders, maybe even AQ leaders) was saying that since capitalism had failed the world should try Islamic finance.
The IMF was trying to decide whether capitalism had failed.
At the time it was very much presented as an issue of whether capitalism had failed and whether it could even continue. What was being said around the world was exactly what we would expect if Soros and his Islamist allies had told Bush that they were going to collapse the capitalist world economy unless TARP was passed and Obama allowed to be illegally installed as POTUS without hindrance.
Why would they want TARP passed? Because it would put the US economy in such an unsustainable position that we would always be vulnerable to the kind of economic threats that Soros and the Islamists were using.
Why get Obama in? Because he would destroy America’s economy and infrastructure from within. When the infrastructure was destroyed beyond the point that any patriots could have the power to fight, the moment would be ripe for the ultimate collapse of the capitalist world economy and the only immediate alternative would be Islamic finance. Politically, the people with no means to make a living would accept communism because they would starve without it.
This sounds radical, I know, but if you look at what the communists and Islamists have been saying for a long, long time, it fits. Both movements are patient, methodical, and deadly serious. They caught us sleeping.
