NPR's Carrie Johnson has learned that lawyer Nick Marsh took his own life over the weekend. Marsh was one of the lawyers who prosecuted former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens for corruption, a prosecution that failed amidst charges of misconduct. The Attorney General dropped that case, saying there were problems with sharing evidence with the defense.
The judge in the case appointed a special prosecutor to investigate whether the government had broken the law. Separately, the Justice department's Office of Professional Responsibility launched a probe of its own.
The investigation had been going on for more than a year and a report by the Special Prosecutor is expected in a few weeks. Marsh's lawyer, Bob Luskin, says he thought his client would not be charged. But apparently the strain of the investigation was just too much.
Dare I ask...Obamacide? Democide?
Are they certain he killed himself and didn’t have help?
Karma comes back to bite. Ted Stevens got a raw deal then died in a plane crash. It was all setup to get a Democrat in there.
;)
Not only that, but his fingerprints were found all over the gun when they recovered it from the lake he threw it in.
Foster-cide?
Hey you forgot the bloody fingerprints on the shells that he reloaded the gun with.
Calling Vince Foster!!
Yes,
but the good part of this story is in plain view.
Another lawyer is dead.
Ohhh goodie.
He was found on his roof wearing ballet slippers and a Somali army uniform, shot once in the back of the head. No weapon has been found. Dem AG will rule suicide.
MainJustice.com reported that Marsh was moved last year from the Public Integrity Section of the Justice Department to Office of International Affairs, where he worked on the unsuccessful effort to extradite Roman Polanski.
“How much more proof do you need, the man shot himself twice in the head, both shots were fatal.
;)”
And twice in the back of his head.
Bob Luskin...if I’m not mistaken, that was Karl Rove’s attorney for the Valerie Plame thing.

Marsh worked closely with Sullivan on the ground in Alaska investigating public corruption there. In 2004, the year Marsh joined Public Integrity, he was dispatched to Alaska. Before taking a job with DOJ, Marsh spent two years in the New York offices of Hale and Dorr, (aka Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr).

Fun fact ...

He probably was told that he was going to lose his law license no matter what. (see Nifong)
Vince Foster comes to mind.
Prayers for a misguided soul.
All I know is the target of the Stevens’ probe pleaded guilty in a plea bargain so his son got immunity. The father made a ton of money in the deal and the son used some of the money to buy Mine That Bird, the 2009 Kentucky Derby winner.
The father ratted on Stevens but the prosecutors hid evidence from Stevens’ lawyer so Stevens went free.
