The tiny state of Delaware, where Washingtonians escape to the beach and for a bit of tax-free shopping, is an unlikely place for a political revolution. Reliably Democratic, for more than three decades Delaware dutifully returned Joe Biden to the Senate.
In the battle for Bidens old seat, it seemed that the only twist might be that Republican former governor and long-time congressman Mike Castle might manage to wrest it from Democratic control. A liberal republican, Castle seemed to the ideal candidate acceptable to Democratic-leaning Delaware but a Republican in a year when all the energy promised to be with that party.
That was before Christine ODonnell came along. With voting taking place today, polls now put her level or just ahead of Castle. She is backed by the Tea Party and has been endorsed by Sarah Palin and Senator Jim DeMint.
The primary race between Castle and ODonnell has, to put it mildly, been a nasty one with gay smears and even death threats flying.
Within the Republican establishment, there is widespread dismay about ODonnell. The Weekly Standard ran this tough piece of reporting about her. It has underlined party fears that she is an unsuitable candidate who is unlikely to defeat the Democratic candidate Chris Coons. Polls indicate that Coons who would be fairly easily beaten by Castle.
A number of Republican establishment figures, including Senators Bob Bennett in Utah and Lisa Murkowski in Alaska, have been booted out by angry primary voters this year. ODonnell seems to be on the cusp of scoring a similar upset in Delaware.
If she wins today, it could make the difference between the Republicans overturning to 10-seat Democratic majority in the Senate and the party just falling short. On the other hand, an ODonnell victory will show

On the other hand, an ODonnell victory will show just how big is the wave of voter dissatisfaction during this mid-term campaign a wave that will sweep away many more Democrats than Republicans. THAT is the only intelligent insight in this whole article.

Republican leadership better wake up and smell the roses. Republicans don’t want Democrats dressed as Republicans. We want Conservatives or nothing.

Crist could be added to that RINO tally even if he wasn’t ousted in a primary.

>>>According to Rush today he has promised Harry Reid his vote on Cap and Trade. <<<
Even more telling is the reason he voted for it - he quotes in his press release from June 2009.....
Center for American Progress (CAP) said it would cut carbon dioxide, INCREASE jobs, only cost pennies.....
Hmmmmm, Center for American Progress - George Soros funded, run by John Podesta with their environment/energy expert VAN JONES!
You can’t make this stuff up! He told me - You can’t believe Heritage Foundation, Pew, etc. because they are ‘Conservative’ - (and they all said it will wreck the economy, kill millions of jobs and clobber families finances.)
NO Castle - No way!

When he loses, expect Castle to immediately jump to the Democratic party which is what he was all along.

exactly.
Listen to EVERY complaint about what went wrong when Republicans were in charge and what you will find time and time again are policies that were pushed by RINO’s.
It was the RINO’s that drove up the debt.
It was RINO’s that tied Bush's hands on the war.
It was RINO’s that pushed through the prescription drug benefit.
It was RINO’s that enabled EVERYTHING bad that happened.
What good it is to have power, if that power is just used to push liberal agendas?
I want conservatives in power, not liberals regardless what whether they have a D or an R after their name.

Amen Brother, but the problem is we do not have enough Conservatives in the Republican party and none in the Democrat party.
Any Conservative the Democrat party may have once had has fallen prey to the power structure that say’s vot democrat or be chastised and never get a Committee.

If we don't have enough conservatives ... then I would rather stay in the minority than get the blame with RINO/liberal policies inevitably fail.
To: Venturer
“We want Conservatives or nothing”
This is the only winning strategy. Period.

If these dummies find out that we will not support RINO’s they will turn Conservative fast enough.
They are in this for the perks and the power, they wont give that up just to be liberal.
