FLOTUS Michelle Obama and Laura Bush served as keynote speakers yesterday honoring the Flight 93 Shanksville, Pennsylvania 9-11 memorial that resembles the Islamic Red Crescent design. Its design insults the memory of 9-11 hijack victim Tom Burnett, Jr. says his father.
The bereaved man, who asked that his sons name be removed from the site, is deeply offended especially now upon learning four glass blocks remembering the Jihadi hijackers are being added to the aisle of the 40 innocent American victims who took down the plane to prevent it from flying on to Washington.
Tom Burnett, Sr. said, Mr. Murdochs plan just isnt acceptable. Millions of Americans and I find the red crescent of embrace (design) an insult to my son and the others on Flight 93 who engaged in a violent and valiant struggle to take that plane back from the Islamic hijackers.

You need the Great Circle route. This gives an initial heading of 55 degrees - closer to NE.
Your rubber band broke a lonnnngggg time ago. :)
Put this in the context of the current ground zero mosque and the Obama administration's NASA Muslim out reach program -- it's reasonable to question many things.
or build 4 walls and 1 door so people can relieve themselfs on their names.
>>I went through this crescent thing last week and linked to other memmorials that use the broken circle theme of a semi-circle.<<
And they all point toward Mecca? Nope.
Neither does this one. Go to the map on the pdf file and see for yourself instead of taking other peoples word for it. Remember, north points straight up.
The I think they should cancel the whole idea of a memorial rather than run the risk of some part of it possibly suggesting something related to Islam by any individual whatsoever. Nip any possible chance of Islamic glorification right in the bud.
This version shows the rubber band better...:^)

Just pasted the site plan into Autocad, bisected the opening to the center of the circle and measured the angle from north = 28.26 degrees.
Your example of going opposite of the opening was 55.1 degrees. Nice try. If you want, I’ll create an account like photobucket if you doubt it.
And if you follow that trajectory, it lands close to a town of Yakhromas, Russia; about 37 miles north of Moscow which is close to due north from Mecca.
It was your mathematics and initial measuring that was incorrect! Then you complained about my "rubber band".

Irregardless, with the angle wrong, their prayers would be going to Moscow and deemed invalid. I based my direction off the above content which is the way it was explained to me while serving in Teheran back on the early seventies. I didn’t need to know it for myself other than just trying to figure the people out that I worked around and with.
The opening of the memorial is designed to provide an open unobstructed view to the actual crash site as viewed from the bowl.
This whole argument reminds me of lets keep them looking at the left hand while the right is doing something like the monuments to the hijackers being in the same hemisphere or anywhere on US soil. Lets focus on that reality.
