Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.

Sure thing ace. That’s why I agreed with her 100% on her endorsements of Clint Didier, Vaughn Ward, Joe Miller, and Allen West.
Oh yeah...LOL. I see your tagline!
Heck, the way things are going, we might have a chance!
Like you, I’m not into appeasing Muslims or catering to their demands and I’m damn sick to death of weasel politician-enablers like Bloomberg and the Marxist-in-Chief, but when this preacher tries to pull his stunt I have to draw the line, because the guy is too damn stewpid, stoopid, stupid, to make a demand like we suggested!
She didn’t back down! Re-read her last sentence. She got in her punch about the Ground Zero mosque.
Agree with you about Sarah here. Disappointed she came down on the side of sensitivity not freedom.
At least balance both sides. Sensitivity vs. freedom. But she didn’t. Another PC “please stop harassing the Muslims” rant.
Because burning a book is the equivalent of saying, “Shut up” instead of making the case that the ideas in that book have no merit.
That’s why.

Are you kidding? Try many.........It's too bad they are too ignorant to consider the number of American Muslims actually serving in our military, supporting our war against militant Islam.
And these are the same people who once praised Gen. Petraeus but now call him an idiot simply because he has genuine concern for the repercussions against his troops if this idiotic Koran burning takes place............
I thought "winning the hearts and minds" of the Iraqi's and Afghani's was the primary objective of the war against terrorism. The same war that all the Free Republic members supported.............
The publicized burning of THEIR Koran is certainly going to going to win their hearts and minds isn't it???????
I know they do that anyway, but why give the people that are shooting at you more ammo?
It makes no sense.
- JP
Winning the hearts and minds of muslims was never my objective in supporting the war on terrorism.
So it sounds like we need to change the 1st Amendment until the wars are over.
(that is not too far from what you are advocating.....I don’t think our soldiers are fighting so that American citizens can be gagged).
I’m not into the ACLU, Bloomie, et al, giving Islam most favored religion status. BTW, did you see this:

I hate to say it, but there are too many on this thread who are reacting too emotionally to catch Palin’s punchline last sentence. Wry little dickens, isn’t she? LOL!
She’s making it up to me for campaigning for McLame. I’m starting to warm up to her again.
If Jews had burned copies of “<ein Kampf” during WWII, would it have saved even one of them from the Nazi’s ovens?
I don’t think so...

I'm troubled as a Christian that a brother in Christ would even espouse to do such a thing.
Of course, the affiliation with Phelps and more odd stuff being revealed makes this even more troubling in my mind.

You never addressed my question. Would burning them have been wrong in ANY way?
Regardless of Sarah's statements, the issue is now settled.
Now, everyone has been upstaged, except for us, (of course) :)
I guess critical thinking is in short supply these days.
If I'm not mistaken, I read many comments by you condemning Rev. Phelps and the Westboro Baptist church...........So, you get to pick and choose your 1st Amendment causes...........cool.
