Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation – much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.

It is moronic, and what is happening here is moronic as well. People are trying to frame it as "appeasement" to oppose the burning of Korans by a Christian Church. That is about as ridiculous as you can possibly get. The "we have to burn the Korans or the terrorists will win" crowd is insane. Of course, we get the usual Palin pile-ons (pissant, indylindy, etc.), and the usual "I was ALMOST going to support Sarah Palin until happened!" from folks whose history show that suppposed almost support to be utter bunk. This is a stupid action. It should be called stupid, period.
