Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.

I was thinking like you are, but it occured to me that Pastor Jones should make a deal with the Imam. Doesn’t anyone else see that this is check and check mate?

If the pastor agrees to NOT burning the Koran because SARAH PALIN talked him out of it the LAMESTREAM media will have a brain seizure.

Take a look at Europe. We always run a little behind. Do not fool yourself, the caliphate must go on and you will submit or die. You can live as a dhimmi, as long as you wish to be a slave. I don’t want to.
Look at all the places the muslims have already gained ground.
You are living in la la land. Why do you think there hasn’t been another 9/11? They don’t need to. Ihey are making much more headway from within.

Hmmmm, I wonder where the Old Testament fits in here, when God was destroying those who were evil. You may choose to be a back bencher touting the peacefulness and forgiveness of JC, but I will be on the playing field fighting evil wherever it is. If you think words will win this one, you are sadly mistaken. And you if you choose to lie down and exercise passive restraint, you loose again, in this life. But there will be those of us who will fight this evil wherever it is, and to the very end. To judge those of us who choose to fight as un-Christian-like is fooey!

The issues at the Temple were two fold ~ first off there were prophecies to be fulfilled, which He did. The second is that he voiced the complaint that they were violating the sacrificial standard which required the use of only the "first fruits" or "the best stuff". Buying sacrifices didn't meet the requirements. The cashiers simply facilitated violating the Law.
You can read an awful lot into this event but it simply reset the world to the First Adam, the First Sacrifice, the First Laws ~ and then we're off into New Testament theology ~ whole 'nuther thing. Remember ' first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Doing a 2 millenium breakaway we come back to the question of burning Korans ~ to me they are exactly like the wooden idols in Mecca. Mohammad said "burn 'em". No real Moslem could refuse the invitation.

Using your "logic", the govt should really put someone in charge of all cartoons.....they could offend someone somewhere. No, I have quite carefully kept my objections to this act being done by a Christian pastor at a church - implying that this is an act by Christians designed to insult and inflame Muslims. I want to win Muslims to Christ, not turn them off to the gospel.

You are absolutely correct. They are scared sh..less by that hateful, dangerous cult.
>>>We are on our own.<<<
More now, than ever.

We may not burn them on 9/11/2010, but the day of wholesale burning of the Korans IS coming.
It’s still the Constitution, not the the Koranstitution.

If they fear the devil, they are not our leaders anyway.

I can't speak for everyone here, but flipping off muslims is enough for me. Fine, I have no problem with you going out and burning a Koran. But unless I am seriously mistaken, you are not a pastor, and you would most likely not be doing so as part of a Christian congregation.

Why? They’re right. This is stupid.

...We dont need to agree with each other on theological matters, but tolerating each other without unnecessarily provoking strife is how we ensure a civil society. In this as in all things, we should remember the Golden Rule. Isnt that what the Ground Zero mosque debate has been about? (Emphasis mine)
She gets it: "Don't burn the book, and don't build the mosque."

So what exactly is this pastor fighting for? What does he hope to accomplish?
Hellifiknow, but that's not really what we're discussing here, is it? What does it matter what this nut wants? The issue at hand is that a great many people will watch a crucifix be put in urine without a word, or for that matter, read about Christians being raped or beheaded in places like Pakistan without a word, yet some nut who might burn a Koran is causing a global furor? Quite frankly, if all of the people who call themselves Christians really, really, lived their faith, Islam's antics here and abroad would never be tolerated, even if it meant violence, and they certainly wouldn't be biting their fingernails and wetting themselves over the idea of someone burning a Koran, which, by Christian definition, is an unholy, pagan book. "Tolerance" is one of Satan's best tools.
