A 'Dream Crowd' Devoted to God and Country [Reporter took family to Restoring Honor rally]

Richmond, Va. -- While I don't count myself a fan -- his tears and emoting are a bit much -- Glenn Beck isn't the hate-mongering racist that Howard Dean, Leonard Pitts, and others claim he is. And many good, hardworking Americans put a lot of stock in Beck -- average Americans who are concerned about the moral and fiscal direction this country has taken.

So, it was out of curiosity that I went to Washington with my brother, Patrick, his son, Jack, and my daughter, Bridget, to attend Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally. None of us was quite sure what to expect. The rally was billed as apolitical -- yet Sarah Palin was going to be there. How could an event not be political with her there?

Left-wing pundits warned us in the days before that the event's main focus was to steal Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1963 message of unity. Ed Schultz, of MSNBC's "The Ed Show," claimed that "the only thing the rally will be spreading is hate and intolerance."

John Batchelor, on The Daily Beast, dismissed the rally, claiming it would be about nothing at all, just a bland event promoted by FOX News to fill up dead summer space.

But it wasn't political, it wasn't bland -- and hate was nowhere to be seen.

At times taking on an almost tent-revival atmosphere, the rally focused on rededicating the nation to God and remembering our military.

Palin spoke, not as a politician, but as the mother of a combat veteran. She recognized the service of three decorated war heroes, retelling each man's incredible story.(continued)

The best part about the rally is watching the MSM elites flail around trying to explain it, and then twist it into something racist, but they can’t. Sharpton looked like a buffoon on O’Reily trying to paint Beck as a racist.

LOL - I was thinking much the same thing:
1 - A marine officer responded to being insulted [apparently, though not stated] based on their ethnicity AND
2 - A pretty lady

These people had come to this rally, concerned not that our president is black, but that our fiscal bottom line is red.

And the writer hits another nail smack on the head - it may have been acceptable for Obama to ignore Beck and the work he did organizing the rally, but it was intolerable for the president of our country to ignore the crowd of patriots who travelled so far to express their concerns.

They screamed how can the unions trample the dream of non-violent Gandhi, due to their violence and asked why do they hate Indians, Chinese, Peanuts, the father of our country and the constitution.

My son works is in the Communications workers union. They sent a 4 panel color post card telling him that the March On Washington Oct 2,will be attended by Enviornmentalists,SEIU members ,Community Organizers,Civil Rights Organizations,you get the Picture the whole left wing Kook cabinet and Kitchen sink. It is being billed as “ONE NATION”.They Proudly announce in this that PROGRESSIVE groups from every part of the Movement will be there,including IMMIGRANT ACTIVISTS! Wow this should bring out all the Moonbats .
Anyway all he has to do is list How many Friends and Relatives want to come and they get a Bus seat and t-shirts,no Charge,just come as many as You can bring. The last time they did this it was a work day and they told my son at work they could all go and still be Paid,this time it is on a Saturday. My son said last time he would go just to go see the Museums but he changed his mind because he said he would have to ride all those hours with those A-HOLES.
At any rate thats it ,RENT a MOB.
