If Ohio State can get by Wisconsin, I think you’ll see them and either Oklahoma, Texas or perhaps a Big East team in the MNC game.

We actually lost one full time starter on defense and that was Rolando McClain. He was the QB on defense. Nick Saban rotates two to three players through each position most games keeping fresh players on the field all the time. Thinking Nick Saban is not going to put a top 5 defense on the field every year is insane, he is the best D coach in the country hands down.

McElroy has never lost a game as a starter. Ingram is back to capture another Heisman. Juliooooooooo will really break out this season with a bit of experience under his belt. If they can just put it all together at the right times again we have a shot. The D WILL be good!

We will still have a pretty good defense. That’s the hallmark of Bama football. Having been at Alabama from 1963-1968, it really feels great to be back in the hunt for national championships on a regular basis! Roll Tide!!!!

I was watching the CBS College Football preview show today and they all took their shot at picking the BCS Championship Game teams and one of them picked Ohio State and Nebraska. That would be interesting with Nebraska joining the Big Ten the next season. But the concensus pick was Ohio State and Alabama.

That WILL matter and that IS Alabama’s Achilles heel this year. No team in the SEC is good enough to get through unscratched.

Iowa won something like 7 games in the 4th quarter or final drive. Their season was very much like Ohio State’s in 2002. Perhaps they will be better but I’m pretty sure they won’t repeat that type of performance.
