The Mosque issue isn't going away and it just got more interesting. Apparently Steve Emerson, Executive Director of The Investigative Project on Terrorism (a large storehouse of archival data and intelligence on Islamic and Middle Eastern terrorist groups), has unearthed hours of audio in which Imam Rauf sounds not so moderate after all. The audio hasn't been released yet, nor the context, but from the sounds of it....the context won't matter a whole lot:

Defending wahhabism – a puritanical version of Islam that governs Saudi Arabia
Calling for the elimination of Israel by claiming a one-nation state, meaning no more Jewish State.

Yeah? And? Bush didn't stake his political future on the man's purported "moderation," either.
Let Me Repeat: Obama and the MFM staked the entirety of their credibility and judgment on the assertion that this was a moderate man interested only in peace, and of course in no way a supporter of terrorism, and anyone who suspected otherwise was an ignorant bigot with a heart full of hatred.

Oh he is a virulent Jew hater but most Jews voted for his friend Imam Obama. So it is a non-issue. If the guy had a D after his name he could be a Senator in NY or Congressman Hollywood, California.
Imam Obama has connections to Imam Rauf. Rush talked about it.

And to have Obama on record as defending an anti-semite jihadist is priceless.
This deliciousness of this is that Obama stepped in it before the release of the tapes. Had he waited before wading into the waters he might have avoided the shark that is about to bite his ass.
Bring on the tapes.
Before I pop the victory corks, I want to hear the tapes in more than a sound bite form.
Run the tapes! No time to wait.
He’s moderate in the same sense that Jeramiah Wright is moderate.
In other words, he’s moderate until you hear him say something.
This reminds me of Obama’s Henry Gates comment. That is, after Obama waded in with his opinion, we found out that the police officer was one of the finest, the original caller identified the people in Gate’s house as white or Hispanic, Gates lost his cool and cussed the police, etc.
Eventually we are going to find facts to support the idea that the Mosque location is an aggressive act by foreign benefactors.
This seems like a tease. I hope the tapes really exist, can be verified, and transcripts and copies made available. I also hope the “leaker” is not harmed or killed.
I heard on a radio show last week that much more damaging info. would come out next week about Rauf, and this looks like it.
