Psycho for me, too... I saw it at the drive-in theater and some boys my friend and I had been dating snuck up right at the seminal moment and scared the heck out of us, they had to sit in the car with us until the movie ended, we were too freaked out.

Not even close for me.

Jaws.

I was always looking for that bastard at the beach as a kid.

“House On Haunted Hill”, although “Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte” was a close second.

It. I was seeing killer clowns in the shadows of my bedroom for a solid week.

Probably In Cold Blood (1967), because I knew it was based on a true story.

As an adult, after seeing Twister the first time in the theater, later that night we had tornado warnings. Kinda freaked me out.

“THEM!” For years, I couldn’t hear a squeaking fanbelt without thinking of giant ants.

I heard a great story about “The Birds”. I don’t know if it really happened, but if it did it was one of the best pranks ever.

The story goes that the owner of the theater that ran the very first showing of “The Birds” in Boston went and caught a whole bunch of pigeons, and turned them all loose from the roof over the crowd as they were exiting the show.

Two others that scared me into a few nights of nightmares were “The Magic Sword” and “First Men In The Moon”.

Fall of the House of Usher. I was a kid and that was the first horror movie that I was allowed to watch.

“I am still a little on edge when camping out in the woods at night!”

I thought the Blair Witch Project was a good flick - other than all of the swearing. The teenage kids behind me thought it was pretty lame. I said “I guess you kids don’t spend much time out in the woods camping by yourself.?” And yes - it was scary! (Not jump out of your seat scary - but tingle down your spine scary). To a grown man at that!

The Shining

I read the book for the first time in a Colorado mountain resort, in the winter! We were about 80 miles southwest of the hotel in Estes park that was used in the movie!

Never heard that, but a good story.

HG Wells The Time Machine.

I was 12 and babysitting at the neighbors watching it all alone in the dark.

When Wells went underground to save Weena I was shaking and completely freaked out of my mind.

I showed it to my kids and they laughed.

Rob Zombie is remaking The Blob.

Rob Zombie for fng President. I am not kidding.

This is a Texas boy who has it more figured out than even he realizes. Has a pure, primative understanding of Natural Law.

I’d follow him anywhere.

Poltergeist!

I saw it at the theater with my friend Daphne, and when my Mom and I went to drop her off at home afterward, we could all see through the sliding glass door that her family’s apartment was completely dark - except the TV in the living room was on.

As for me, I slept in the exact center of my bed for a long, long time, and I certainly wouldn’t reach down to pick anything up off the floor no matter what it was.

I remember that one. Crazy mom locks up nerdy son who killed a girl who teased him. Then she dies. New family moves in. With a teenaged daughter.
