While promoting her movie 'The Switch' earlier this week, Jennifer Aniston told reporters that women don't need men to start a family or be good mothers. When Bill O'Reilly caught wind of her statement, he debated the topic of single motherhood on 'The O'Reilly Factor' and called out the 41-year-old actress.
"She's throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that, 'Hey you don't need a guy. You don't need a dad.' That is destructive to our society," O'Reilly railed.
FOX News contributor Margaret Hoover and FOX News anchor Gretchen Carlson debated the topic with O'Reilly, admitting young teens wouldn't be able to comprehend the vast differences between a 40-year-old woman and a teenager raising a child as a single mother. "She is glamorizing single parenthood," Carlson said.
In 'Switch,' Aniston plays a woman who elects to take on life as a single parent through artificial insemination. During the movie's press conference in LA, the actress admitted "times have changed" and women don't need to rely on men to be good mothers.
I’ll bet, Big Boy. However, I don’t think she has problems attracting them, but, apparently has problems keeping them.
Uhhh... 'Pretty Woman'? Perhaps the most inaccurately named movie ever. Her face could cause a freight train to jump the tracks.
For Single mothers maybe...but not for the child.
Yep, she’s an airhead. This from a woman who stuggles keeping a man. It is no wonder she has come to her conclusions.
This is Jennifer’s daddy, a SOAP Opera “Actor”: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Aniston
Even worse.
If a hooker Julia Roberts could get Richard Gere, think of what a young cutie hooker could snag. In her little mind that is.
Last time I saw a face like that, it had a hook in its' mouth.
Didn’t someone else get in trouble with the media for saying something similar about the plot of a tv sitcom in 80’s? Jennifer Anniston is not sending a message to 12 and 13 year olds. She is sending a message to other single women, who are hearing their inner clock ticking.
I always find it amusing when someone who has never raised children thinks that they have any credibility when telling others about raising children.
lol.....
We’ll do it live! lol...
The premise of the movie sounds like “art” imitating real life in her case.
and the women need the artificial insemination don’t they so there IS a need for the man. Can’t do it yourselves ladies.
Not many people heard what she said until a big deal was made of it!
I take it then you’re a strong advocate for homosexuals who wish to adopt.
Thanks, Jen. You've just taken us back to 1969 and the beginning of the Women's Lib movement.
(sigh. Such a great looking woman and she was born without a brain!)
I doubt that Aniston was attempting to give advice, so much as justify her own life. I feel sorry for her. She wanted a baby with her husband and lost him to another woman who had his baby first. Now, she can’t get over her loss and no other man wants her until she does. Oh, and the media keeps asking her if she’s pregnant. How many pictures of Aniston with a so-called, “baby bump” have you seen on the covers of the tabloid magazines while you’re standing in the grocery line?
Please reduce prejudice against loving, nonbiological parents.
I see. Because I think it's perfectly fine for a single woman to adopt a child that would otherwise be condemned to living life in an orphanage, you come to the illogical conclusion that I'm an advocate for homosexual adoption.
Have you been a moron all your life, or is this a recent development?
