Once again we see Islam being brought into the workplace. Today we learn that Minnesota Vikings safety Husain Abdullah, has decided that fasting and playing at a lower level, is more important than giving it his all for the team.
Even while sprinting in the heat and humidity during drills, sometimes in full pads, Abdullah is adamant about his faith. He will not allow himself so much as a cup of water until the sun sets and before it rises.
Im putting nothing before God, nothing before my religion, Abdullah said. This is something I choose to do, not something I have to do. So Im always going to fast.

I guess 9/11 has been all but forgotten.
Muslims who kill infidels are very dedicated to their faith. In fact, thoughout history Muslims dedicated to their faith have destroyed countries, peoples, plundered, forced countless others to “convert” to Islam, tortured, raped, pillaged and enslaved whole populations - all because of dedication to their faith.
Muslims who kill infidels and conquer turf in the name of Islam are very dedicated to their faith.
In fact, if they keep being dedicated to their faith in great numbers, they will either control the whole world or other people will have to stop them by force.
I know which outcome I’d rather see.
Do you admire other Muslims’ commitment to their faith? You know, the ones who fly planes into buildings, rape in the name of “God”, saw peoples’ heads off, take over countries, stone people to death, and so on?
They’re also very committed to their faith.
I wonder how ol’ Hakeem feels about all those other Muslims’ commitment to their faith.
Grow up.
As I stated before, "what demand?" If he can't play during this time, then he might want to try another occupation. But your relating someone following their own religious beliefs to muslims forcing sharia law and their own beliefs on the rest of us smacks of paranoia. Do you get upset on Ash Wednesday because many Catholics have an ashen cross on their foreheads in public? Or what about all those Christians who have forced their religion on us non-Christians by having Christmas as a federal holiday? Get over it!

It was a true story. IIRC, the main character was an Olympian. He placed in the finals of the track race and because it was held on a Sunday he refused to run.
Sorry it took some time to respond!
He and other moslems have every right to fast. I suggest that they not eat or drink anything again. Ever...
islam a religion? Not in my book. It is a socio-political construct with the primary goal of stomping every other socio-political construct it touches to DEATH. That is its mission, that is its goal. Death to everything that it is not. No compromise, no quarter, no questions. No US Constitution, no US government, no state government. No personal or religious freedoms. islam is all. Period!
At its sick demented core islam is anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-free thought and has no place among people that want to live free.
The moslem gang house/mosque they want to build near their place of greatest vistory against what is not moslem is islams way of taking a piss on the non-believers. Not only did they kill thousands in the name of their f’d up so-called god they now want to not only laugh about that they want to aggressively rub our noses in it. islam is sick and it is followed by wack jobs who want to enslave all.
* insert photos and video of 9/11 here along with countless terrorist actions. insert photos and videos of women being stoned, of heads being cut off, of women being mutilated. The list goes on... *
1. He is demanding that the team accept his terms.
2. Actually their goal is to force Sharia on all. This is one step forward.
3. Christians are not on a worldwide movement looking to impose a barbaric set, of religious laws on all. But Muslims are. You trying to compare what Muslims are doing across the world to Jews, and Christians is nothing more than a cop out.
You might want to think past the day that you are in.
Too many of these clowns love to slap the “bitches” around. Islam provides the justification. Allah is not God, allah is a monster.
Sigh...not made of pigskin, never was.
Footballs were never made out of pigskin. They’ve always been leather. The pigskin is a reference to the footballs used in the 19th century, which used porcine bladders to hold air. The bladders in modern footballs are made of rubber.
Tell me about it. It’s downright laughable. I’m in my late 40’s and I’ve seen two football games from start to finish in my entire life, and I know why a football is called a pigskin when it’s really made of bovine leather, and die-hard fans don’t. Blows my mind.
“Sigh...not made of pigskin, never was.”
Well yeah it was ... in the late 1800’s ... but I ain’t that old ... I guess you really need to use a sarc tag for everything ... don’t sigh about it though, you probably aren’t old enough to remember it either.
No, it wasn’t made of pigskin, even in the late 1800’s. It’s always been made of leather. However they did use porcine bladders up UNTIL the late 1800’s, which is where the name comes from. Note of interest, it took almost 30 years for vulcanized rubber to replace the pig bladder, after it was invented.
Grow up? ??
The points I made a true and valid. What’s your point? That we should pretend the truth isn’t the truth?
I wonder what Hakeem thinks of his devout, committed brethren of faith.
Those pig bladders .. did they have any skin on ‘em?
thanks.
Uh, no. The bladder was placed inside the (bovine) leather skin which was stitched around it, just as the rubber bladder is now inside the leather skin in the same fashion.
The problem LJ, is that you can’t have freedom of religion, except for this one. That’s not really freedom. You can outlaw religious practices, but not the belief in them.
