What is it with this White House and publicly calling out conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh?
If you recall, back in January 2009 President Barack Obama told Republican congressional leaders to quit listening to Limbaugh if they wanted to get things done. It's happened once again. During the White House daily press briefing on July 29, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took another couple of jabs Limbaugh - this time over the auto manufacturer bailout. In responding to a question concerning charges of "socialism," Gibbs went right after Limbaugh.
"Look, I'll say this - Rush Limbaugh and others wanted to walk away," Gibbs said. "Rush Limbaugh and others saw a million people that work at these factories that worked at these part suppliers that supported communities and thought that we should all just walk away. The president didn't think that walking away from a million jobs in these communities made a lot of economic sense."

GM wanted to advertise their new electric car “Volt” on Rush’s show. Rush refused to advertise the scam electric car.
gm doesn’t advertise on Rush because Rush said NO. Not because they didn’t want him to.
He said his staff was a but upset because gm was offering big bucks for a personal endorsement from Rush, but that his conscience simply wouldn’t allow him to do it.
What a joke this regime is. Funny I never remember Bush calling out any in the media, despite the majority of them blasting him constantly. Hell, Oliver Stoner even made a failed movie about assassinating him, but I never remember him responding directly to this. It shows the caliber of the man-child now infesting the WH.
Rush Limbaugh...living rent free inside Obama’s head.
I think most taxpayers are overjoyed to help fund 52 yr old UAW retirees @ $3000/month and silver plated bennies, not to mention kick in $7500 bucks on each new Volt.
Could have only been a slam at Ford. Everybody knows what Rush drives.
This bailout was all predicated on passing card check and using the goons to unionize all the foreign brand plants in the US.
In other words, reduce them to the same level of inefficiency as GM and Chrysler.
It may not work out that way.
If we can somehow make it thru the “lame duck” session, card check is dead for a long long time.
Hey Gibbs!
If GM had filed for bankruptcy there would have been no difference in the job futures for the workers.
Why are you flaking for the govenment control and union butt kissing?
Rush needs to buy an F-150 all tricked out. That would be chump change for him, but delicious irony.
No... we wanted them to file for bankruptcy, reorganize and renegotiate their union contracts and/or move to Right to Work States.

They offered him an obscene amount of money for a long term contract... Rush said he knew this was coming and HE turned them down!

“Nice of Mr. Gibbs to remind all of America how President Obama hangs on every word Rush utters.
He lives in Obamas head, rent-free.”
I was told by someone who was listening to Laura Ingraham that she was ripping on Michelle O’s lavish lifestyle as the first lady. Then a woman claiming to be Michelle’s MOM actually called in and told Laura to leave her daughter alone.
Begging your pardon, padnuh! On Wednesday’s radio program Rush explained how last year GM attempted to renew their advertising contract with Rush. Rush knew that GM is no longer GM, that it is owned by Obummer and the UAW, and most importantly, that advertising GM cars would include flacking for the new VOLT automobile. Rush said he has no confidence in the VOLT, does not believe America WANTS an electric car which only has a 40 mile range before needing to switch on the gasoline engine, and that he could NOT in good conscience flack for Government Motors! Get your story straight before you sound off, Hoss!!!
actually after 40 miles the gas engine has to turn on to power the car and it can run 300+ additional miles on a tank of gasoline
the philosophy being that a 40 mile round trip commute is pretty typical but the gas engine is there as needed
it will take “cap and tax” forcing $5/gal fuels before edrive cars have much economics going for them
Well, Rush discussed that. GM wanted to stay on with him but after the Obama regime took over GM and Rush realized they would push electric cars, which he’s always made fun of (and rightfully so), he decided he could not in good conscience continue to support GM on his show.
Rush does not lack for advertisers and he was very good for GM. But like everything Obama touches, it turned sour.
Aw, you can help Goverment Motors and the unions (and Zero, too) by buying several $41,000 Chevy Volts. Then you can travel 40 miles in Each One on electricity generated somewhere else.
Of course, you've got to get back home on that evil concoction gasoline diluted 10 or 15% by ethanol (a real loser).
Tomorrow is going to be fun listen to Rush about that. THAT is by far the money quote and Gibbs is sleepless tonight cuz he’s gonna get lit up by Rush over it.
