Hes lying.
I am not so sure about that. If the administration didn’t feed CBS this story, they probably wouldn’t know anything about it.
It could just be an oversight of the administration that they forgot to tell the “mainstream” news media about it.

Of coarse he's lying, im sure Holder told him that he wouldn't do the interview unless it was agreed that he wouldn't take any questions about the New Black Panther case.

He’s lying to save his job. Duplicity is the hallmark of the MSM.

Standing tall in the tradition of Walter - “I didn’t know about Stalin’s millions of murders” Durante, Charlie “I didn’t know about the Acorn scandal” Gibson, Dan Rather, and so many more.

I don't buy it. These media types keep tabs on everything the competition reports on. They have meetings to discuss stories that run on other networks.
Its no different than Brad Sherman claiming he didn't know because it isn't important enough to get news coverage. This is a huge story that was making a bee line for the oval office until the meaningless NAACP resolution came out and siezed the headlines everywhere.

I believe what he says. I’ve always thought Scheiffer was the sheltered major media figure. I honestly don’t think he knows there is any life outside the beltway.

Sorry but I was being a little sarcastic.
My point was that the liberals (democrats) decide what the media reports. Liberals decide what is and what isn’t news.
