Is Paul Ryan the Answer?
Neoavatara ^ | July 14, 2010 | Neoavatara

The search for the perfect conservative platform started the day Barack Obama won the Presidency in November 2008.

And so far, I have not been sold.

Oh, sure, there are stable of adequate candidates. But tell me, honestly, has any 'wowed' you yet? I think not. And each platform has its own liabilities.

But the best out there may be Paul Ryan's Roadmap for America. An overview of the plan and its legislative language can be read here. And unlike many of Ryan's detractors, Ryan has a complete CBO analysis which can be read here.

Now, look. I am a Ryan fan. Have been ever since he joined Congress after being elected in 1998. I met him around that time in a Congressional meet-and-greet, and I have to say, even at that time I was impressed.

Now, many have reservations about Ryan's Roadmap. Most notably, this morning Erick Erickson of RedState coincidentally has his own piece on it. And I agree, it is not perfect. But in retrospect, either was Newt Gingrich's Contract with America, nor was Reagan's Presidential platform in 1980.

But here is what I generally like about Ryan's plan:

From what I have seen and heard from Paul Ryan, I could easily support his running for POTUS. No problem.

I agree, I like Sarah Palin but believe she cannot win with what the media has done to her credibility. I also like Mitch Daniels and Jim DeMint.

I’ve been ‘wowed’ in the past, but, more often then not, they eventually let you down. All one can do is keep trying. I’m sure we’ll get it right one of these days. We did with Reagan.

What, that he has a plan to needlessly excerpt and pimp a blog for hits?

If he's any good, why not post the content?

Are the blog hits more important than the message?

Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Paul Ryan, and Herman Cain are my top four. I really love Sarah - but the idea of Herman Cain hit me like a lightning bolt yesterday and he’s pretty amazing.

LOL. You mean, clicking a mouse button is too hard for you?

I am shocked people waste so much time, when the easiest solution would to ignore the blogs if you don’t want to read them.

You don’t even have a link on your blog to FR. THAT frosts me more than anything.

I really don’t think he aspires to running for president but wherever he goes, he’s always the smartest guy in the room and his Roadmap is the answer. I wish the GOP would adopt it as this year’s version of the Contract... although I think he should come up with the Reader’s Digest version because nobody will read the 45 pages of small print that I think it is now. JMHO.

I would love to see Ryan as a Veep nominee (maybe behind Mitch Daniels or Chris Christie in the top slot). We need another top notch Executive. Daniels and Christie have both proven their leadership skills. Which the country badly needs.

I am shocked that idiots mooch off of FR to pimp their blogs. It is dishonest and unethical and I bet you don't even donate to FR.

I haven’t written Governor Palin off just yet.

I know that the SRM pukes and weinies “think” that they still have all this “power” to make or break, but I’m not so sure about that. How many people do you know that still believe anything that cbsnbcabccnn have to say. Not many around here buy their crap anymore.

I still need to see what Daniels has to offer, but I am adamantly opposed to ANY Senator running for POTUS ever again. That is a dog that will not hunt, in my mind.

Right now we need to be completely focused on this November’s election cycle and not be distracted about something 2 years away. The RATs aer desperate and are capable of anything to hold on to OUR power. They must not be allowed to succeed.

Stroker and his Regime need to be hand-cuffed and shackled, NOW, before they can cause further damage to our country and our way of life.

Let’s take care of getting the adults back in control of the House and the Senate, first.

Then, we can start working on getting Stroker and his pet Wookie out of OUR White House.

Let’s ROCK, People!

An earlier article on Ryan.

I did a quick search for his speech at the Obama HC thingie ,but didn’t find it.

He knows his numbers, what about other issues?

"Ryan’s plan holds true to this. It limits entitlement spending. It limits growth on the deficit. It attempts to pay off debt. And it confronts the biggest draining force of equity, health care. That is not a bad place to begin the next conservative fiscal realignment for our country.'

Sounds like a good plan, to me. Does anyone have any better one out there?

Saw Ryan on a morning show a couple days ago and, wow, I thought Ron Reagan had been reincarnated! What a command of economic knowledge, as well as the ability to quickly formulate and strongly express conservative principles.

I’d love to see a Ryan/Bachman ticket.

I just got myself dirty visiting your blog. My purpose was to see if there was any reciprocity in your pimping. I couldn’t find Free Republic in your list of favorite links. I did, however, find MSNBC and CNN in your links to favorite news sites and I even found Huffington post under Opinion (no surprise there).

Care to explain, pimp?
