Today, the United States Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the state of Arizona in federal court. The lawsuit, prompted by passage of SB 1070 in the Arizona legislature, will argue that federal law trumps the state statute and enforcing immigration law is a federal responsibility. The Department has requested a preliminary injunction to delay enactment of the law, arguing that the law's operation will cause "irreparable harm."

A breathtaking exhibition of unmitigated hubris by the 0bumma Administration.
Imagine the Federal Government suing a State for protecting its borders.
Imagine the Federal Government suing a State for enforcing the Law of the Land.
Unthinkable in the America in which I grew up.
But that America is gone, and probably gone forever.

Holder and Obama exhibit systematic treason.True, and if we had a Congress worth a damn (I know, I know, a pipe dream) there would be articles of impeachment in the works as we speak.

And in other news ... by presidential decree the U.S. Department of Justice will now formally be known as The Department of Social Justice ... This administration is a joke -- and a rotten one at that.

Will this case take two or more years to reach the USSC? Or will it be expedited. While it is true that fed law trumps state law and that the feds have responsibility for immigration the point is that is has not done a proper job of carrying out its responsibilities. And it is true that states have plenty of police powers of their own to deal with matters internal to the state as regards criminality. So sue it indeed!

...when can we expect them to sue “sanctuary cities”?
