Bill Clinton did, in fact, have a Y2K contingency plan for martial law. I vaguely recall hearing the senator say, “Good.” Note the word, “contingency”. People were justified in feeling concern. Overreaction? Yes — what do you expect?

This is not wacko stuff; it was covered in Senator Bennet’s Y2K hearing. The senator was pleased that a martial law plan was in place. It was a televised event.

Not to get too far off topic but while I agree that Y2K concern was justified that concern brought out the very worst here on FR. It was not our finest moment.
