This week marked the 39th anniversary of the ratification of the 26th Amendment to the Constitution which lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 years of age.
At the time we wondered how long it would be until the Democrats nominated the right Piped Piper to lead them, and ultimately our nation, over a cliff.
When two of three voters aged 18 to 29 voted for Barack Obama in 2008 those of us who were older and wiser knew they were making their inevitable terrible mistake. They were like men and women running blindfolded through a dark basement which of course could only lead to the destruction we are witnessing today.
Today the 26% jobless rate for the youngest workers in our economy is at the highest level the Department of Labor has ever recorded since it started keeping track in 1947, and saying: We told you so, pales in our glowing frustrations.
Besides being unemployed directly because they believed Obamas empty Hope and Change mantra, our younger generation is having its futures snuffed out because they are the targets Obamacare. The young people will be forcibly signed up for healthcare they neither want nor need as a group. Nevertheless, they will be supporting the scheme with ever increasing tax loads.
Selling disaster
The provisions of Obamas disgraceful healthcare scheme are so good for young people that Democrats are planning to spend $125 million to sell its benefit to them.
Already the Congressional Budget Office is telling us our debt as a nation is ballooning toward a staggering 62% of our GDP, the highest percentage since immediately after World War II.
Over the past 40 years the rate has averaged just less than 37%, but is on track to be almost 90% by 2020 just in time...

“Anyone stupid enough to vote for him deserves no sympathy.”
And anyone who stayed home in 2008 because McCain is a RINO got what they deserved.
Yes. The amendment guarantees 18 year olds the right to vote nationwide.
It says nothing about states having lower ages.
Most students who now or will soon have to pay back their student loans and move back in with mom and dad are going to regret that they Hoped for Change.
I watched in horror on election day as the polling place was filled with college age kids. This had never been the case before.
And each one put the card in the machine, pushed the first screen choice and forwarded through any other offices and issues so they could get back to their xbox.
they voted for obama, didn’t they?
i did not.
By that I meant there is an unending supply of young empty heads in the pipeline of life. As one empty head matures and begins to think, another steps forward in line to take his place.
When the 26th Amendment enabled 18 year olds to vote, we slit our own throats.
The same can be said for close to 50% of all eligible voters.
We're screwed.
“He never actually lied”
That is one of the biggest misstatments in history. Obama continuously lied about most everything significant then and he lies about most everything now.
Obama told a huge lie when he said he barely knew his mentor and terrorist sponsor. It’s all here in a CNN report that the MSM only made the mistake of showing ONCE. Start listening at 4 minutes, Obama is a fraud.

Why yes, young man, I would like fries with that.
They will vote for him again. He wants windmills,, smokes, is a drifting underachiever, cares about the third world, supports Palestine, talks in Ghetto-speak on occaison, and danced with Ellen Degeneres. They vote for the one they would most like to party with,,,
He is a perfect clone on collehe in America today.
Though they are jobless with no hope, the will vote for him because he blames the USA for everything, just as they do. Their vote is emotional, not rational.
Make that “He is a perfect clone of college life in America today.”
Sadly, they're the generation that still gets most of their news from the major networks and CNN. They voted for Obama, as well, because they listened to the drumbeat mantra from the MSM of "McCain will just continue the disastrous 8 years of Bush and Cheney. They believed it was the Republicans who had ruined the economy, and they thought that with the Democrats 'it couldn't get any worse'. Boy were THEY wrong. Here's hoping the old folks have learned their lesson.
“Here’s hoping the old folks have learned their lesson.”
Unfortunately, Obamacare is the last mistake many of them will make.
I was 18 when I cast my vote for Bush in 2000. Little did I know just how important that vote would be.
