If this what they do to their own for a game…

Mexican fans attacked the players’ relatives after Mexico lost to Argentina
last Sunday at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Of course we have idiots. But we have 350,000,000 people. And quite honestly, most of the damage after a team wins a title is done in the, shall we say, lower socio-economic status areas.

Soccer hooliganism knows no economic/geographical borders, IMHO. I'd much rather be in NYC after the Knicks win a title than in any Latin American city after a routine soccer match.

There is a good reason why the Mexican diaspora fails to dominate the US National Team, and why the Mexican national team itself at best qualifies for the tourney, but is always beaten by far superior teams.

The best players in Latin America tend to come from Brazil or the southern cone. In other words, those douchebags at the New Republic who think that the Mexican diaspora will save US professional soccer need to think again.

Well, I recently attended a viewing of a World Cup game at a local Beer Garden. The teams were Brazil and Chile, and the audience was about 80% Brazilian immigrants, 15% Chileans, and 5% American soccer fans such as myself. The Brazilians responded to both bad calls and their victory by singing songs and cheering. The Chileans left unmolested, despite being outnumbered. I've seen much worse behavior at Eagles games, by contrast.

There ya go. Mexicans are sore losers, have always been sore losers, and vie with the old-school Scots in terms of hooliganism, and the English in terms of whining about their losses.

The Mexican people are the ones who are racist and bash the USA. They are anarchists devoid of any idea of the rule of law or civility or race relations. Stop blaming the USA for Mexico and Mexican attitude.

Russians are bad neighbors, but we have over 20 million illegal Mexicans already in our homeland. Might be the largest invasion by a neighbor ever. Just based on numbers alone.
