American politics is, at heart, an exercise that calls upon politicians to be great at human interaction. In North Korea, Kim Jong-il can afford to be distant as his countrymen/victims worship him like a belligerent, maniacal deity (Ares?). However, we have always liked elected officials whom we would want to grab a beer with;
1) Reagan -- what a great guy to shoot the breeze with while downing a California pale ale.
2) Bush I -- maybe not, thus a one-termer.
3) Clinton -- bad person, but great beer buddy. You'd probably end up with a hangover in Mexico, and with twin freshman from SMU named Trixie and Pixie.
4) Bush II -- although a recovering alcoholic, I'll bet he'd be a great guy to grab a protein shake with.
5) Obama -- more of a Chardonnay guy, and he'd certainly stick you with the bill.
Then there is Vice President Biden. Although he has been in retail politics for decades, he seemed unprepared for the hilarious quip made by a custard shop manager when Biden asked how much he owed for a cone of the tasty frozen treat.
"What do I owe you, said Biden. The manager answered, Lower our taxes and well call it even. Biden jokingly called the manager a smart-ass, telling him, Why dont you say something nice?
Mr. Vice President, funny people willing to speak truth to power should be encouraged. The manager made a funny comment and you were rude. You are not our king and thus I would not want to grab the king of beer with you . . . . Budweiser....

Should we expect to see this shop owner trashed in the media now, a-la Joe the Plumber?
I would have bested Biden by countering that he was an f’n ass.
“So that means its time to take impeachment of BO off the table?”
Nope. Not at all.
I do think that we are on the verge of being in a position to remove, by force, those that are tearing this country apart.
Either we put the brakes on Stroker and his mob in November at the ballot box or we go to the next level, remains to be seen.
The bottom line is that these “folks” need to go. Period. End of story.
How about a Dublin Dr Pepper instead?
Biden = Inner Party
Custard Guy = Prole
Thats what its becoming. Biden scoffs that a prole should even suggest something that benefits the prole. They have to be reminded that WE own THEIR asses.
“If you watch the video, Biden was anything but jokingly” ...
Exactly. The store owner was gracious in laughing, but Biden wasn’t kidding. You can also tell by his body language that Biden had no intention of actually paying. He could have insisted by putting bills on the counter.
These arrogant dumbasses need their wings clipped big-time.
“It is better being a smart ass then a dumb ass Mr Vice President”
I thought it was illegal for politicians to accept gifts.
Watch the video. Biden has a few dollar bills in his hand that he's trying to give to the store manager.
Biden could be bested by just about anyone living in America with the possible exception of that county commissioner lady in Wisconsin.
The more often I read about this exchange between the businessman and the Veep, the more certain I am that Biden is the kind of guy who always has to have the last word. The best way for him to have handled this would have been with a chuckle and a handshake, but no, he had to call he guy a smart-ass.
Biden’s comment is exactly how liberals think about the rest of us. We are too dumb to know what’s good for us so the liberal elites must make the decisions for us. As Biden said before it is patriotic to pay more taxes to our benevolent government that wipes every tear and rights every wrong.
That isn't the big thing though. Him talking to the "peasant" in such a classless manner is.
You really need to read, and heed, my tag line! ;-)
