USA 1 Ghana 2 The Black Stars kill the USA dream

According to the rules of engagement the Sons of Sam only attack if you attack them first. May be for the next World Cup this needs to be changed. Go ahead and shoot from the beginning.

When General Petraeus is done with Afghanistan he may counsel Team USA on how to change to rules of engagement.

It is no coincidence Ghana is the last team standing from the continent hosting the tournament. The Black Stars have four Africa Cup of Nations trophies. The team was the youngest during the World Cup 2006. Now the youngsters are all grown-ups and shining.

Kevin-Prince who scored the first goal was born in Berlin and used to play for the German youth team. His grandfather Helmut Rahn scored the winning goal in the 1954 World Cup Final (West Germany 3 Hungary 2). He would have been proud of his grandson.

There is a theoretical possibility today that both brothers will play against each other if Ghana and Germany reach the World Cup Final (if Prince’s injury is not too serious).

5-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant and two-term US President Bill Clinton brought star-shine to the VIP box. Both proved to be successful in their career with just occasional distraction of a sex scandal. The Bad Boys cheered for Team USA faithfully.

Landon Donovan was the leader for the Sons of Sam through the tournament. He calmly scored the penalty shot that gave the Team USA hopes through the regular time.

Gyan from Ghana was the person who killed the US Dreams for another chance on quarterfinal at the beginning of the extra time. The State Department should put him on the no-fly list until the next World Cup.

See you back in four years! Say, say, USA!

Its awesome you could recognize the sport in question from my description. There is alot more to soccer than scoring, great defensive plays, as well as offensive plays, the fact that you cant pay attention to the things happening in the game just goes to show how attention deficit we have become. In any case world cup soccer is probably the most boring competition in soccer, the premier league or la liga is much more exciting as is the uefa champions league.

Yes because clearly sprite and budweiser are reserved for the cream of the crop. In my eyes “successful” people have no need for advertisements as true quality products sell themselves, an example: have you seen many ferrari commercials?

Notice Bradley made the same subs for the same players for the same reasons all tournament long?

He should have been fired at least two years ago.

“world cup soccer is probably the most boring competition in soccer”

I’ll take a Fulham vs. Portsmouth game over a Ghana vs. Uruguay game any day.

I try to stay positive. Ghana was a good team. They won fair.

Any team that makes it to the World Cup play-offs belongs among the very best worldwide. Keep in mind that even the mighty England failed to qualify for the Euro 2008 championship and that the US beat Spain in the Confed Cup.

The difference between the US today and the future world champion is a bit of luck and avoiding one or two silly mistakes. Otherwise it's all very close. The US is no North Korea.

You want to see Dempsey and Boateng play each other again? Although I suspect Boateng won't be with Pompey next season.

On the bright side, he's only 24 and the whole ordeal seems to have woken him up and brought some focus into his life. There's a chance he would have made this World Cup had his French club team cleared him to play, which would have been unbelievable. After being disappointed by Clint Mathis, Eddie Johnson, etc. I think this kid might finally be the one.

Does this mean there won’t be another round of riots in LA?

They'll riot after Mexico's next game.

Almost as bad as the idiots in the Obama gear at the game they showed during the pre-game show.

The joy of world cup football is not only about the game itself. You get:

- Good old-fashioned jingoism without the hassle of actually having to go to war.
- Different national mentalities clashing on the field.
- The joy of seeing the mighty fall (Italy)
- Soap opera-style infighting (France)
- The weird and sometimes the batsh*t crazy (North Korea)

New Coach needed. This team was sleeping at the start of every stinking game. They were also physically weak. You gotta do more than jog and windsprints. Hell we’d kick the ball and with the exception of Donovan, the ball would trickle from the American feet like a baby was kicking it.

Coffee and a Marine DI to start.

In practice when they miss on a one-on-one, they need to carry a 50 lb sack of shiite around for an hour....we must have had 3 or 4 opportunities 1 on 1. Take advantage of opportunites or you don’t score, just like Life.

Altidore played for Ghana. Count how many times he gave up the ball to Ghana - not forced errors.

interesting.
