Obama Immigrant Amnesty?

Apparently there is a plan being considered by President Obama to provide a mass Amnesty for the nation's 11 million illegal aliens. Some United States Senators have been made aware of this plan and have penned a letter to the President asking him to explain, led by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). The plan would allow Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty if they can't secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate.

The letter sent to the President, pictured here, asks for clarification on the use of deferred action or parole for illegal aliens. The executive orders are normally used only in special cases, but if 60 votes can't be secured in the Senate to pass a mass Amnesty, the Administration may use the discretionary actions as an alternative.

Here is the text of the letter signed by Sens. Grassley, Hatch (R-Utah), Vitter (R-La.), Bunning (R-Ky.), Chambliss (R-Ga.), Isakson (R-Ga.), Inhofe (R-Okla.), and Cochran (R-Miss.).

This amnesty doesn’t include citizenship, correct?

Doesn't matter if it doesn't they will still have full to schools, hospitals, welfare and they will vote.

This cannot be allowed.

Can he do this with an executive order? Let’s hope some FR Constitutional scholars chime in.

I dont think the order would make them citizens. It would make them legal residents or give them work permits, but not the right to vote. They could apply for citizenship later but it would take some effort.

Remember acorn? Illegals are already voting in our elections. How many states even require identification to prove that you're a resident?

This goes through and that's the end of America as we know it, no shiite.

If it happens there will be whining on Fox News and celebration in the mainstream media for a few days. Then the sheeple will calmly return to watching Dancing with the Stars.

No citizenship....but I can’t see the difference. If you have amnesty, then you have been shielded from prosecution of the laws you broke entering, hence, you can’t be sent back no matter what you do. Citizenship becomes a pride issue at that point...and these people have no pride of country, except for the one they came from.

“citizenship becomes a pride issue”:

I thought citizenship was a big deal to politicians because as citizens they can vote.

The US Constitution allows non-citizen voting. The individual states can decide this, and prior to 1925 this practice was wide-spread. Just because it is banned now doesn’t mean it can’t happen.
