The war in Afghanistan is bigger than one general and is bigger than one President.
It was not easy for President Obama to realize the general he personally picked did not leave up to the standards for leadership. It was not easy for him to appoint the hero from the evil Bush years that gave us the success in Iraq: General Petraeus.
But Obama, The Commander-in-chief, made the right decision.
Now the US President has to find the courage to recall the other member of the dysfunctional team: the US ambassador to Afghanistan Eikenberry, who is equally responsible for the embarrassing mess in the relationship between the two top officials on the ground.
There is a difference between the politicians and the military. Chaos is a permanent state for the first and chaos is not an option for the second.
Gossip is always present in the hallways of the Capitol and the White House. Gossiping is not an acceptable way of communication in the military.
The military cannot afford to lose credibility the politicians dont even remember what credibility means... President Obama has to take strength from the brilliant way the military handled the issue. He should fire the rest of his appointees who do not meet the standards of leadership. Few come to mind: Attorney General Eric Holder, Director of National Security Janet Napolitano, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson
Keep going Mr. Presdient, dont stop. Fire them!

Chalk up another win for the web bot dude.
They will be canned after the results of the November elections.
...just the ones who don’t follow the directions to fall on the sword.
Where in the Constitution does it say that domestic enemies have authority over the Military?
HA! Good luck on that.
Great line.
Thanks. It really hurts, but the military is held to a much higher standard. This is why our hearts hurt for general McChrystal, but military has to be tough. This is why they are the only one who have credibility in our country!
Eikenberry
Biden
Holebrook
Jones
All need to go!
And that’s just with regard to our policy in Afghanistan!
(could’a listed ALL of the “D”s, including BO, but that wasn’t the point.)
Don’t hold your breath. Obama won’t fire them unless Petraeus tells him he won’t take the job otherwise - which I pray he’ll do.
Obama has made it perfectly clear that he wants to destroy our country and I’m sick of people blaming all of his evil actions on his incompetence. It is glaringly obvious that he’s trying to lose the war and destroy our economy & capitalism in general.
It sickens me that he is DELIBERATELY hindering the clean-up efforts of the massive oil spill in the Gulf and DELIBERATELY appointing buffoons that know ZERO about the oil drilling industry to help solve the leak problem. You need to look no further than his call for a drilling moratorium in spite of what every oil expert is saying to the contrary. Obama is as evil as they come.
A more precise question is “Will Obama fire the rest of his appointees whose subordinates say negative things about Obama and his policies?”
what i heard last nite on DocSavage was that Petraeus was DONE -no more for him + he has cancer or something
“Will Obama fire the rest of his appointees whose subordinates say negative things about Obama and his policies?
I doubt it. I don’t think he can afford sending the unemployment rate to 11%.
Put a different way, are there any Obama appointees whose subordinates HAVEN’T said negative things about Obama and his policies? Sure, these may not have hit the MSM, but his appointees surely know if their subordinates have engaged in such behavior. He should insist that all appointees with knowledge of such insubordination step forward and fire them immediately.
operative words here - standard of leadership-
most certainly it is of the highest order especially when it comes from the pospotus sitting in contempt of the WH
Perhaps this move would really shrink the federal government drastically. I wish this policy was truly the case, I think so many people would be fired because so many govt subordinates probably have said negative things about Obama.
