How about we all ask God to cleanse our hearts and remove the dross from our faith, and that HIS will would be done in OUR lives as well as in the nation. God raises up principled men and women of proven character in each election cycle. We reject them because the media tells us they can’t win.

I do believe that the Social Conservatives ( I would put myself in that group ) and the Military Conservatives ( I would also put myself in that group ) would have enough sense and are reasonable that the bleeding needs to be stopped before we can move onto the other issues.
Yes, you are right we should tackle all the other issues that we face, but, the patient is in critical condition and the bleeding needs to be stopped.

The fact that someone volunteers to serve is great. But, blanket ‘special’ treatment is wrong.
It is similar to creating different degrees of punishment, because someone is a policeman, fireman, child, etc. during a crime against them.
They all are people, and setting up a animal farm mentality is anathema to the Republic.

Veterans are already getting screwed as it is. How so?
If you served your country, you should be exempt from paying taxes.
How do you define "serving your country"?

TRANSFER POWER FROM THE GOV’T BACK TO WE THE PEOPLE.
Running against the Federal Government and debt is the cornerstone.
I also think the majority of people are against illegal immigration, but at the same time are afraid to appear “racist”, so that issue will have to be tackled carefully.
But the time is right to run against the bloat of the Federal Govt and paint it as corrupt and in need of severe overhaul.
If there ever is a time to give power back to the states, this is it. I’m not sure any of the candidates are the real deal on this issue though.

Can we brainstorm on what to do with the upcoming 2010 elections first?
That might be a better start.

Short and to the point:
1-Less spending
2-Lower Taxes
3-Jobs created thru small business.
4-Smaller Government.
PERIOD.

Need to worry about November before we even consider 2012.AWB
ABSOLUTELY! (sorry for shouting).
Unless we win in November, 2012 will be nothing more than a macabre popularity contest for who gets to preside at the country's funeral.
