By Wesley Wilson, Age 12
Let's face it. We all hate cancer. But when you read John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life," that gives us something to think about.
Jesus' way is the only way. You won't be misled.
Jesus' truth is the only truth you can always depend on in good times and bad.
And the most important, The Life is the only thing we live for. Some people say there's no cure for cancer. Jesus is the only cure for cancer.
And that's the truth.
Editor's Note: Wesley is my son, and he's writing this about his daddy who has gone to at-home hospice this week.

“As a non-blical person, could you just explain in simple lay terms what it meant with relation to why God created non-Christians and how He expects the bible to influence those that He knows dont give it credence.”
God is the potter, we are the clay. He creates some of us for honor, some for dishonor. He, for example, hardened Pharoah’s heart. It says so in the book of Exodus, repeatedly: “And God hardened Pharoah’s heart.”
If we wish to complain against that, he asks us, who are we to complain against Him? Does the clay pot say to the potter, what are you doing? No. He does not have standing. God is sovereign.
Now, Romans 9 is not the whole Bible. God did indeed send His son to atone for our sins, and He did. The offer of salvation is indeed made to all of us.
Yet, God remains sovereign. He knows who will trust in Christ and who will not. The free offer of the gospel does not deny this truth.
It is hard for mankind to accept the sovereignty of God. We like to be in charge. But we are not.
How did God know what Satan was going to do?
Except that as God and not as a human manager, you knew what they were going to do, prior to creating them. You also cannot be wrong, so what you know someone will do, they must do. It just boils down to God being responsible for all things, good and bad, but we don’t want to hear that.
As many here believe, God knows the future.
One's belief never alters facts. The best one can hope for is to alter one's beliefs to conform to extra-dimensional Will
I may believe that flapping my arms rapidly might get me to Malaysia. My flight path, however, will be unaltered, and disappointing.
Free will is real. Perception of its effects within constraints of 4th dimensional physical reality, however, remains pale in comparison to His N-dimensional perspective.
Have you ever heard or understood the passages of the Garden? It would seem as though you are an atheist that is simply here to say you are here, just to dry up in the breeze. If that is your case, say it.
So if God creates some for honor and some for dishonor, where is that dis-honorable persons ability to choose to be honorable? Does that choice exist for that person?
God knows the outcome. The future is a human term
I agree one’s beliefs doesn’t alter facts, that’s why I said it doesn’t matter what we believe.
The concept of free will is real, but the act itself is not provable. After the fact, no one has any way of proving they could have done otherwise, just a belief they could have.
Nope, I’m about as far from being an atheist as one can be. My comments over the last 10 or so years easily show that.
You are correct.
God knows the outcome and man’s future actions are a direct result of that knowledge.
Yes
Everyone is bound by their Creator. They don’t pray to Satan when a Tornado comes, or an Earthquake hits, or a loved one dies. As far as the pre-destination argument, it doesn’t register that high in my book. I think that is uncalled for and doesen’t make sense.
And they also hold God responsible for those same things. What’s interesting though, is that there are people that are said to have sold their soul to the devil for solutions to problems...why don’t people sell their souls to God?
I don’t get what you meant by uncalled for and doesn’t make sense...what?
That’s YOUR construction on reality.
It’s not mine.
It also sets you over God as His judge.
That could be an interesting position to be in.
I don’t think that linear thinking is a good model to use in judging God or in understanding much at all about God. It seems to me that God is, by definition, beyond linear thinking and linear . . . constructs.
God declares that His ways are beyond finding out. Yet He tells us much about His ways that bear on our RELATIONSHIPs with Him.
As to ultimate good and evil . . . satan is not God’s opposing equal. He’s a gnat, comparatively. Useful in the current construction on reality for training rulers and reigners with Christ . . . particularly about learning humility and love and wisdom . . . pretty high priorities those.
People’s understanding of pre-destination. Natural disaster is a product of the cleansing of this planet. Just get the “Satans Home” out of the way.
You put it so much better and more briefly than I did.
THANKS BIG.
LUBIG BRO
No one has the ability, on their own, to repent of their sins and put their trust in Christ.
The Bible says we are dead in our sins. Dead people don’t get up and do anything.
It is God who gives life to the dead.
So, the dishonorable person you mention - if he chooses to be honorable - that is evidence of God working in him. That is known as being “born again.”
Jesus says we must be born again.
Then He makes it happen.
Oh stop.
I just don't have anything remotely resembling your patience.
