The behavior of crowds, group think, trends and fads are truly interesting to observe and study.
Often things pick up momentum and they become sort of established as fact even though there is little to support the idea. It becomes crazy and absurd to question this fad and the mob sort of agrees that “this is undeniably true and you can’t question it anymore,” sort of like Gore on Global Warming which is now beginning to unwind. Does anyone remember the unquestionable failure in Iraq? The point is this, the logic of Obama and his birth certificate is backwards. It is not the public that has to prove his in-eligibility, but he who has to prove his eligibility. It is a Constitutional requirement for him to have been native born as a US citizen, and there is a lot of doubt and concerns regarding his qualifications in this respect. He has furnished little to nothing that actually eliminates this doubt, and the mob is simply accepting his eligibility as a matter of fact, without any real documentation or proof that beyond any reasonable doubt to a common man would set this issue behind us.
The self proclaimed open minded, the critical thinkers out there, to often are in reality the ones on the bandwagon that have little to no argument to back their case. But they will call those raising the issue “Birthers....etc.” That’s logic, reason and sound argumentation in the 21st century US. Give me proof. Give me something that can actually convince me or anyone that is really open minded and fair. Show us documents that lay aside the citizenship question of Obama and this entire issue would pass, but two years later it’s still an open issue because unlike McCain (Born abroad, in Panama on a US military installation) he has NOT furnished anything that would prove his case. I have a higher standard to prove eligibility for VA benefits than Obama does for president? You have a higher standard to prove things when applying to be a foster parent, when applying for a state or federal job...........
The entire argument that Obama is for sure a US citizen by birth is based on assumptions, bandwagon, name calling those that question it, and very weak documentation that cannot be collaborated nor has people stepping forward to swear to it’s validity. A private in the US Army, a local recruit for the police or fire department is held to a higher standard in proving his citizenship and eligibility than the US President! Think about that.
The media dug and dug to discover Bush’s military records, to the point of fabricating them and sticking to their story as Dan Rather did. Yet the most basic question, does Obama meet the eligibility requirements to be President does not seem worthy of questioning and digging for. The truth only seems to matter for the media when it’s something that they want to go after, i.e. Palin, Bush.............. I bet every swimsuit picture, every text her daughter sends they want to get their hands on, but proving that Obama actually meets the most basic eligibility requirements set by the Constitution seems to not raise to the level of digging for by the “watch dog media.”
Excellent thoughts.
You said, “A private in the US Army, a local recruit for the police or fire department is held to a higher standard in proving his citizenship and eligibility than the US President! Think about that.”
I would just make one small change: ‘higher standard...than’ THIS current usurper US President.
Amazing things happen when you’re the magic post-racial, post-partisan appointed messiah.
