Obama Turned Down Oil Skimming Ships From The Dutch Government

Three days after the spill, the Dutch government offered oil skimming ships and booms to assist with the clean up. The Obama administration turned down the request. President Obama's stumbling response to this ecological disaster has been shameful and proves he lacks the executive experience to be President. In late May, President Obama said,

"Those who think we were either slow on the response or lacked urgency, don't know the facts..."

The excerpt posted below proves that statement wasn't true.

The Houston Chronicle reported:

Three days after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, the Dutch government offered to help.

It was willing to provide ships outfitted with oil-skimming booms, and it proposed a plan for building sand barriers to protect sensitive marshlands. The response from the Obama administration and BP, which are coordinating the cleanup: “The embassy got a nice letter from the administration that said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’” said Geert Visser, consul general for the Netherlands in Houston.

The only reason I can find for rejection of the Dutch offer is because he’s crazy. (And he hates White people.)

I am certain that our ships would have made a valuable contribution to the clearup of the oil covering the coastal waters.

I am equally certain that, given the magnitude of this ecological disaster, Dutch expertise could have been enormously helpful. Notwithstanding Obama's refusal to accept this assistance, rest assured that most Amnericans are very grateful for your offer.

Sadly for us, Obama is pursuing an agenda that is contrary to American interests and our national well-being. And that's putting it mildly.

It is NOT a dereliction of duty. It is a DELIBERATE attempt to expedite an ecological disaster, thus justifying the cessation of all off-shore oil operations.

Obama may be an incompetent executive, but his handlers know exactly what they want to do to destroy America.

Even a complete idiot, especially one who is worshiped by the Gaia lovers, would have welcomed the assistance of oil skimming ships. The only reason these were rejected is because Obama WANTS an ecological disaster.

He has also rejected oil retaining booms from Maine, bio-remediation supplies from North Carolina, Florida 'Good-ole-boys" hay absorption suggestions, often hiding behind EPA or OSHA regulations ("these methods are unproven or not certified").

He will blame BP, but Obama has repeatedly said "I am in charge here and have been working on this since Day One".

Obama is an odd mixture of deviousness and incompetence. This contradiction is hard to reconcile for most of us. Agree that he has a (destructively) hidden agenda for our country and is, to a certain extent, successfully executing that plan. However, he’s sorely lacking experience and has bitten off far more than he can chew and it’s getting him into deep trouble. A smarter person would have played a better, more subtle game, up to this point so that the frog would not realize its getting boiled.

- let BP struggle and eventually go down completely;
- let the whole region die away from oil pest;

If Obama was in the Gulf instead of partying, golfing and going on vacations for the first 50 days, the sand berms and skimmers would have been approved instantly.

Obama could not allow that to happen. In Obama's way of thinking, the destruction had to become so large, so beyond our ability to remedy, and thus, so disheartening that the effected industry, in this case off-shore drilling, would be finished. Done. Not only will government end off-shore drilling but the people will not tolerate it.

That in the end was the problem. The public was willing to live with it and with states such as Virginia and New Jersey contemplating laws to permit its expansion, Obama had to act or America would be energy independent . . . on domestic oil.

At some level this is true. At the more fundamental level I think it was Obama thinking, "If I accept help, it means I'm not capable of handling this myself and I'll look like a failure."
