Has anyone in the last week gotten a computer virus from Antispyware Soft? It was a real bear to get rid of. I picked it up over the past weekend, and wondered if I could have possibly gotten it from FR or perhaps the alternate FR site when FR was inoperative sometime over the weekend. When I typed Start/run/msconfig and went to the start menu, there was an item ending in tssd.exe which is the virus. Also in start/run/regedit, there was AV Soft and AV Suite. After many times, restarting and unchecking tssd.exe, and running Microsoft Security Essentials, I believe I now have it completely eliminated. Anyone else get this virus?

I got it.I went to a website for info-don’t remember the name and caught it there.I did the same thing you did and it stopped. The name of it is trojan:win32/fakespypro.
I got a redirector last night - still don’t know how to fix it. Only occurs in IE8, not Firefox, and it sends any link and/or typed url to images.google.com/some variation of my link.
Really annoying.
I love those. Though I'm really a Whopper man at heart.
You have already been advised to get Malwarebytes and that is the only way to clean it that I know.
As a PC Tech I have had to fight this numerous times and find that the best way is to follow these steps.
1) go to another computer and download Malwarebytes to a flash drive.
2) download superantispyware to the same flash drive.
BE AWARE THAT THERE ARE SITE THAT APPEAR LIKE THE TWO I LISTED BUT ARE FAKES!
Be sure and download the free editions.
3) Start the infected computer in safe mode, load Malwarebytes and run a full scan.
4) After the full scan restart the computer in regular mode and update Malwarebytes and run another full scan.
5) Install, update, and run a full scan from superantispyware.
6) Update each program weekly and run quick scans.
GOOD LUCK!
I then made sure all patches were updated and figured out why my firewall was not running and fixed it. I was slacking off before that.
Are you using XP?
got to get the windows updates loaded somehow. they will block the redirector.
see #27
I have used those 2 PLUS loaded windows security essentials on the flash and that (or windows defender) has cleared the deck. once you get the win updates done you might be okay.
Can you give a link to the good one?
Checking my computer!
