Its not mentioned much now, but in the late summer of 2008, a major hurricane, Gustav, was in the Gulf of Mexico and headed toward New Orleans, threatening a replay of the disastrous Katrina experience.
On September 1, 2008, Barack Obama, fresh from his Roman-colonnade speech on the final night of the Democratic convention in Denver, talked to CNNs Anderson Cooper about Gustav and the Gulf.
The question: As president, could he handle an emergency like that? Obama pointed to the size of his campaign and its multi-million dollar budget as evidence of his executive abilities.
Our ability to manage large systems and to execute, I think, has been made clear over the last couple of years, Obama said. That executive ability, he added, indicates the degree to which we can provide the kinds of support and good service that the American people expect.

Apparently not.
Sincerely,
The American people.
So, as soon as the kids get out of school, bet he is off to Hawaii.
Obama is not a leader, never has and never will be. Obama surrounds himself with cronies and ‘yes’-men....no opposition is allowed.
Obama did not get healthcare passed....he did not write it, he did not push for it, he simply let others do the work while he took the credit.....a template played over and over in his life.
I watched a documentary about Apollo 11, so now I can land on the moon.
Dear Obozo,
You have proven to be nothing but an immature, empty suit with no leadership skills. There are millions of Americans who are more eminently qualified to be President than your sorry a$$ is.
Up yours,
Darth Vader
That's like saying:
'I ran a big bake sale at the school, so I can handle being the Principal'
America, first led by Washington, followed by such giants as John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison now needs a leader:
- one who has studied the history of civilization's struggle for liberty;
- one who understands the principles essential to preserving liberty;
- one who understands the human tendency to abuse delegated power;
- one who recognizes approaching tyranny;
- one whose singular passion is to preserve and protect the principles underlying the Constitution of the United States in order that future generations may live in freedom;
- one who surrounds himself with other lovers of liberty and decries all who threaten its survival;
- one who recognizes what America's Founders acknowledged in their declaration of principles--that life, liberty, rights and laws to protect them come from the hand of God: they are not the prerogative of government.
The world cries out for such an American leader. The world, for over 200 years, has looked to America as a place of refuge, of opportunity, of generosity and sharing--a literal breadbasket.
"Ideas have consequences! (Weaver)
Tyrants organize and dictate outcomes. Leaders inspire and free people to aspire, achieve, and pursue happiness.
Perhaps, once again, Divine Providence will provide a leader who understands his/her role in keeping the light of liberty beaming its message to other shores.
I watch a lot of baseball so I could play pro hockey.
Sad little man thinks being a BSer in front of glitter Styrofoam columns makes him executive? Douche bag!
He’s never RAN so much as a Lemonade Stand!! He’s a Community AGITATOR....someone else ran his campaign.
I seriously doubt that Obama ever “ran” his campaign. His campaign was run by David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel and David Plouffe.
Obama ran his campaign only in the sense that a can of Campbell’s pork and beans runs the Campbell Soup Company. Obama was just the product.
Candidates don’t run campaigns in any meaningful sense. They’re too busy campaigning.
Axelrod, Emanuel and Plouffe ran a brilliant campaign, but that says nothing of Obama’s executive abilities.
I thought that when I heard Obama make these statements, and I think that now.
FAIL
The Rhetorical Presidency.
Obama: “I wee-wee standing up, so that makes me a man.”
Don’t think so.
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I can do anything....
When the financial meltdown began Bill Clinton was out campaigning for zero and told a Florida crowd, I believe, something to the effect that he might get in trouble for saying this but when the financial problems began Obama got on the phone to a lot of people and asked everyone to tell him what to do because he had no clue. “Tell me what to do and I’ll sell it”.
Some POTUS. He won’t talk to people he disagrees with (Jindal), he apologizes to our enemies, trashes our friends, steals to re-distribute to his constituents, is doing nothing about Iran and N.K, probably his “health care” will end up killing people, and now apparently he’d rather see the gulf coast ruined than help a Republican governor. I remember he said “we’re keeping score”. He’s wayy worse than Carter.
Any time he did what he 'wanted' he put his foot directly in the cow flop as with "Joe the Plumber".
notice he mentioned “our” ability to manage. In otherwords, he doesn’t actually do the managing
