http://radioviceonline.com/ ^ | June 3, 2010 | Steve McGough

He has every right to say what he wants, but why did Paul McCartney feel the need to announce -- at a ceremony where he received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Song -- he was happy Bush was out of the White House? You, Sir Paul, demonstrated he can have zero class at times.

Major disappointment with McCartney. Tasteless. Stupid. Totally non-U. Not even funny, but in the White House? Don’t know who was tackier, McCartney or the attendees who hooted in laughter, or the POTUS that let it happen in his White House.

Gotta disagree with Levin’s sub for the night; he doesn’t get a pass ‘for being Paul McCartney.’

By claiming Bush didn’t know what a library is, McCartney shows his own ignorance. Bush, contrary to the public impression, was actually an avid reader.

Shut up, Paul. You are decades past your prime, an overhyped prime when you got more attention than you deserved. You're an old pop singer who had some good handlers.

Please stay in your own rapidly decaying country.

You, Sir Paul, demonstrated he can have zero class at times.

There was an apostrophe + s left out of this sentence. It should read, "You, Sir Paul, demonstrated he can have zero's class at times."

I mean, really, was Sir Paul's statement much different than most that come out of our Pres__ent's pie hole?

The Beatles were very inventive (give George Martin some of the credit for that), but I don’t think their music has really stood the test of time. The early stuff is dated, and the later stuff is often embarrassingly pretentious.

Isn't it sort of de rigeur for celebs to be anti-Repub/conservative/tradition and pro-BamBam/socialist/idiotic?

I mean, really. What thinking person gives a fairy's fart for what Paul McCartney thinks of GWB?

This obscenely wealthy creep, who doesn’t vote in the US, and who, according to Hillary, doesn’t pay his fair share of taxes, is of no consequence.

Sir Paul has had zero class for the last half-century.

Pretty much.
If he doesn't just shut up and sing, we'll send another one legged hooker to go marry him, this time with a steel leg to better bash him over the head with, whenever he gets stupid (which is very often apparently).

I heard that Paul made this joke about Bush as a distraction because someone in the audience yelled, “Isn’t this the guy who wrote Liverpool Oratorio?!” People started snickering and giggling and Paul broke out in a flop sweat. Looks like his quick thinking worked.

Whatever one feels about Bush, the comment was exceptionally rude.

This coming from the man who commented at age 14 when his mother died of cancer, “what will we do without her money?”

Also the man whose first public comment about John Lennon's death was “yeah, it's a drag.”

And any president with any sense of decency would not have been pleased about it either. But I'm sure Obama loved it.

Imagine if some foreign musician had said something similar about Carter at a ceremony hosted by Reagan? Would Reagan have enjoyed it and yukked it up like Obama did? Of course not.

Some people have class, dignity, and morals. And the others are liberals.

Shut up and sing.

Better yet, shut up and go home to that toilet known as England.
