Sarah and Todd Palin may move their family out for the summer, thanks to their new creepy neighbor, writer Joe McGinniss. So said Todd Palin in a telephone interview with me as he described the strange events unfolding around his familys backyard.
McGinniss is renting the house next to the Palins, from which he can keep a close eye on the former governors comings and goings. Regardless of ones political views, anyone with any remnant of respect for others privacy can sympathize with the Palins. As Todd put it: This is a non-partisan issue.
Hence, our conversation. Todd called me on the recommendation of a mutual friend.
Todd comes across as the regular guys regular guy. He has an easygoing, laid-back manner, to be sure. But hes also a husband and father, protective of his family and cautious with strangers. Especially -- and understandably -- with media strangers.
I asked how events unfolded.
By his telling, Sarah Palin was going out to mow the grass with Trig in a backpack when she noticed that there was someone in the previously vacant house next door. The Palins had rented the house themselves the previous summer for some of their guests. Or, rather, they did some remodeling in lieu of payment, which is now apparently a matter of dispute.
Todd decided to check out the new neighbor and walked over to introduce himself. He and McGinniss had a brief conversation, during which Todd challenged McGinniss about a magazine article he had written that was critical of then-Gov. Palins handling of a gas pipeline project. Todd was unconvinced by McGinnisss claim that he only wanted to be a good neighbor: What we read is hell nice you to death and then stab you in the back.(continued)

Todd is a saint for talking to that shrew without telling her where to shove it.
That's the typical MO for all of these "tell all" book writer types.
Kathleen Parker being objective..oh look a piggy flying by LOL..never thought I’d see the day..if the Palin’s do move out for the summer I got the PERFECT house for them, its for rent right now, a block away from me..5 bedroom, 4 bathroom. quiet neighborhood, family friendly, right next to the park, house is gated, nice backyard, even has a shed. I’ve been in the house many times since we were friends with the original owners.
Yeesh. Obviously not a friend of the Palins who read what this catty witch Parker had to say about her and her family during the campaign. Go play with your new Leftie friends, Kathleen, I don't care what you say anymore.
In Kuh-lee-fornia?
Todd has to protect his family and from what we’ve seen from the media over the past two years his concerns are legitimate.
Elections are coming, they have no one to read their crap. Dribble some sweetness to lure some back, before you load the crapper again...
“.......... someone needs to leave the neighborhood. It shouldnt have to be Todd and Sarah Palin.

Like DUH, Kathleen.
Very smart on Todd’s part to call the harridan.
Yeah..but it would be cool having her as a neighbor :-)
My best friend in Dallas has some tough, well-trained bodyguards that would be available on a moment’s notice:

They should leave, then if he follows, they can most likely get him for stalking.
There has to be a limit here.
That may explain why the owners of the house were willing (perhaps eager) to rent it to McGinniss. McGinniss is still a slimebucket, but the Palins really need to wise up a bit. They ought to know by now that they're under constant scrutiny. How about entering into a clear, written *contract* when they want to rent a house for their guests?
Precisely!
They COULD loosen the bolts on his deck rail?
The Palins lived in San Diego during August when she was finishing her book.
She knows she is welcome to return.
This article should have a “Suck UP” alert on it.
Dear God, what next? A Debbie Schessuel suck up article too?
She should work a deal to come stay in Michigan at Ted Nugent’s place.
Yes, I think Sarah would have a long list of places
that would welcome her and the family
