Mitt Romney’s main strategy in the GOP primaries of 2012 is to hammer Sarah Palin as “a quitter”.

Yesterday, I was interviewed by a reporter for CBS, for a story on the diverse groups of people supporting Sarah Palin online. The reporter authored a book on Palin last year, after being embedded with her vice presidential campaign, following a stint covering Mittens Romney. I can’t imagine how many cucumbers-and-mayonnaise sandwiches this guy had to eat on the Romney Express (to nowhere), but I gave him the same kind of awed respect I grant anyone who’s ever spent more than half an hour with Tim Pawlenty — and didn’t succumb to T-Paw induced narcolepsy.

We (the reporter and I, not Tim Pawlenty or Mittens) met up at Nookie’s Tree in Boystown and talked about Sarah Palin over coffee. Doing enough of these interviews over the course of the last few years, and being interviewed by some great people like Andrea Shea King and Tammy Bruce, I can usually spot the story the reporter wants to tell by the way his questions unfold and what he keeps coming back to whenever I take the conversation on one of my tangents about how terrible the current administration is. The story CBS wants to do on Palin’s supporters appears to be something in the realm of “an unthinking, personal, and emotional defense of a woman they love”. It’s not a negative story, and the reporter doesn’t seem like the kind who would write a hit piece, on either Palin herself or on me as a Palin-supporter, but the impression I got from him was that he’s projecting the Left’s Obama cult of personality onto Palin supporters — when nothing could be further from the truth.

Most of the questions asked of me were in the vein of how I felt whenever Palin was attacked, and what makes me defend her.

Staying in Alaska until Jan. 2011 would have killed her national ambitions.

_________________________________________

A. Quitting already killed them.

B. If (as your posts suggests) she quit her elected position in 2009 to better her national ambition in 2012 it shows a distinct lack of character.

The book was written months after the fact and, as with any down-the-road explanation, was self-serving.

It is not a given that any down the road explanation is "self-serving." Of course, an explanation could be self-serving and also truthful. Given that Palin's stock has only risen over the last year, and she gets to play offense, where she is at her best, and Alaska has been kept in good Republican conservative hands, it is reasonable to say that she made the best decision for all parties involved.

Obviously, her resigning rubbed you the wrong way. Others were confused by it, and have since seen that it was a wise choice. Still others will consider it old news when 2012 rolls around.

LOL, she is the most intense attack dog of Obama’s Socialist policies.

I kept asking where Mitt was while Palin attacked the Socialist agenda.

Well, hard for him to attack something he agrees with. Obamacare passage made Myth unelectable in the General election.

She quit to pursue a lucrative career as a speaker, writer and media talking head.

Complete nonsense from the willfully blind.

Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were also in the single digits a year before their respective elections. If we went by celebutard status/name recognition, Rudy Giuliani would have been the 2008 GOP nominee.

Rudy blew it by his strategy of a florida firebreak, his stance on abortion and other social issue. Comparing Rudy to Palin is apples to oranges. One was 180 degree out of sink with the base on every issue but national security the other lines up almost 100% with the base on every issue

No. Sarah became a national figure in 2008. Why should she turn back? Going back to Alaska would have killed any national ambitions to the benefit of Obama, Mitt and any other media pushed BS candidate.

Coming down to the lower 48, giving speeches, commentaries, interviews and making campaign appearances helped with any national ambitions.

B. If (as your posts suggests) she quit her elected position in 2009 to better her national ambition in 2012 it shows a distinct lack of character.

No not at all. She showed more character leaving Alaska and helping on the national stage against Obama. That's where she is needed the most.

The cause for conservatism and against Obama has been helped her by decision.

How’s Sarah Palin doing with her ENDORSING and CAMPAIGNING for RINO, McPain?

Non-sequitur. Has no relevancy to Palin's presidential prospects.

John Mc Cain is scared , but he has a huge warchest. He is calling in all his chits.

Mitt is a jackass.

Jan Mickelson the morning host of WHO Des Moines turned Mitt into a raving fool with a question about his Mormon beliefs.

Steve Deace WHO afternoon host puts Mitt on a level with other pagan baby-killers. Deace backed Huckabee.

Mitt is parroting the line of the Left--"quitter" is the epithet used by the Left against Sarah.

Mitt is of the Left.

QED Mitt is unacceptable.

And he's a smarmy turd to boot.

Not likely to have the power to destroy anybody--but himself.

If Sarah had Mitt's money when she was Governor, she could have afforded to stay and pay her Legal Fees due to the frivolous Ethics charges brought against her by the Democrats.

Since she didn't have the money, she had no choice in quitting rather than being forced into Bankruptcy.

If Romney uses the Liberal Lie about Sarah's resignation as Governor, I wouldn't give him or his campaign the time of day.

When you lay down with Liberals, you get Rats, or is it RINOS?

To 22 - She’s doing great. Looks ten years younger than her age, has a figure many women in their twenties can only dream of ever attaining, she’s banking boocoo $$$, sells out every venue she speaks at, and she holds the distinction, despite her few ‘transgressions’, of being the most able candidate who can rally this nation to defeat the pernicious agenda of the current Marxist-influenced regime.

To 34 - For someone with limited appeal amongst Republicans she sure sells out a lot, well, actually all, of the venues she speaks at. No matter the type of crowd, the theme, or in which area of the country.
Her appearances during the '08 campaign were likewise.

I suggest that the necessary 70 million US voters will not see quitting as indicative of character, especially when doing so has made her a not so small fortune.

Old news? Like Kerry's Viet Nam service? The msm and the dem attack machine will hammer it day and night.

The next POTUS will need 70 million votes. Not gonna happen.
