Yesterday, I was interviewed by a reporter for CBS, for a story on the diverse groups of people supporting Sarah Palin online. The reporter authored a book on Palin last year, after being embedded with her vice presidential campaign, following a stint covering Mittens Romney. I cant imagine how many cucumbers-and-mayonnaise sandwiches this guy had to eat on the Romney Express (to nowhere), but I gave him the same kind of awed respect I grant anyone whos ever spent more than half an hour with Tim Pawlenty and didnt succumb to T-Paw induced narcolepsy.
We (the reporter and I, not Tim Pawlenty or Mittens) met up at Nookies Tree in Boystown and talked about Sarah Palin over coffee. Doing enough of these interviews over the course of the last few years, and being interviewed by some great people like Andrea Shea King and Tammy Bruce, I can usually spot the story the reporter wants to tell by the way his questions unfold and what he keeps coming back to whenever I take the conversation on one of my tangents about how terrible the current administration is. The story CBS wants to do on Palins supporters appears to be something in the realm of an unthinking, personal, and emotional defense of a woman they love. Its not a negative story, and the reporter doesnt seem like the kind who would write a hit piece, on either Palin herself or on me as a Palin-supporter, but the impression I got from him was that hes projecting the Lefts Obama cult of personality onto Palin supporters when nothing could be further from the truth.
Most of the questions asked of me were in the vein of how I felt whenever Palin was attacked, and what makes me defend her.

First things first Mittens was done the day O’Care passed. Now on to the subject of this post. Sarah knew if she wanted any chance to run in ‘12 she had to get out from behind the Governors desk. Thats why Sarah decided not to run for re-election. The mistake the Rats made was to give Sarah a out and she took it. Now if I am not mistaken Mitt tried to run for the senate while still in the Governors chair. T’Paw has the same problem as well collecting a pay check from the public troth while running for president. This office jumping isn’t going to go over to well in ‘12 with the base. All Sarah has to do is point this out and the “quitter” meme isn’t all that bad.
The other Sarah can do is bring certain voter into the process the others can’t. Think special needs parents and conservative democrats yes it may only be 5 million votes but it’s 5 million votes the other side won’t get.
but you already knew that. (it wasn't a sure thing at the time like Obama’s was) would Obama have had enough balls to quit his senate career not knowing if he had a paycheck waiting for him? somehow I doubt Obama would have had enough courage to quit and face the prospect of not having a secure paycheck.
but you already knew that.
the two are the same and any person HONEST with himself would see that. Of course you have an agenda to make sure the two are not seen as the same so there is that.
Two different voting blocks and thus two different frontrunners.
I agree that Mitt will be a very bad choice and will do nothing in the primaries if the voters have a choice. that is why the massive effort to get Palin not to run. the Mitt teams knows they can not defeat her at the voting booth.
Have spoke with 2 Democrats the past week who are changing their registration.
One is a Nuclear Engineer. They have had it with Obama
and the other Dems.
I would like to know what Mitt would done about the oil spill.?
I know what Sarah would do and that makes all the difference in the world.
He should just go away and shut up.
I held my nose and voted for mclame ONLY because of Sarah. I will NEVER vote for a disgusting top-of-the-ticket again.
Mitty will never get my vote NO MATTER WHAT.
NO ONE WANTS MITT "The backstabber and liar" Romney.
Except maybe MLK because they used to walk together.
No, Mitt stopped paying attention within 2 years of his governorship and was out of town as much as in state, cranking up his presidential run. (His failed senate run came before his governorship.)
Richard Schweiker wasn't as liberal as the consensus opinion would lead us to believe. Thanks to his buddy Paul Laxalt, who sat next to Schweiker in the Senate, Reagan knew that Schweiker's liberal voting record in the Senate was primarily on union issues since that was his constituency. Schweiker was no movement conservative but he was a strong pro-life Catholic, was pro-2nd Amendment and was a fierce anti-Communist.
Too bad that couldn't be communicated to the conservatives who stabbed Reagan in the back at the 1976 GOP convention, denying him the chance to grab the nomination in an open convention.
The other Sarah can do is bring certain voter into the process the others cant. Think special needs parents and conservative democrats yes it may only be 5 million votes but its 5 million votes the other side wont get.
You are so right about those voters!
Don’t forget Sarah also made a promise to promote AK. That’s what the TV show is all about.
lol that was funny.
I make the assessment that quitting was the best financial decision for herself based on her own comments about the personal cost and on her actions since quitting.
Bear in mind that in her resignation speach she gave multiple reasons and none of them clearly. One reason she gave was that, since she had decided not to run again she would be a lame-duck, and that lame-ducks just waste tax-payer monies by jet setting around.
That was extremely lame and patently false. Plenty, in fact I'd wager most, governors who are either term limited or have decided not to run do not spend their last two years in office frivolously wasting the public dollar. Most spend every minute up to their last day in office trying to push their agenda.
Quitting killed her POTUS dreams if she ever had any. It gave her opposition in any quarter the chance to ask her...
"Mrs. Palin, we know what it took to get you to quit the governorship. Since the problems, attacks and affronts are so much greater in the presidency, what will it take you to quit that job?"
If she had national ambitions then quitting was a damned stupid move. If she wanted to pursue wealth in the private sector then it worked.
I'll guess he checked his portfoliofirst and I think he's still waiting to see what happens. I don't think he's said anything yet, or if he has, it's not made the news...lol.
Great...another M*sshole stinking up the entire country. If we have any leftover materials after building the wall at the southern border (ROTF); we should build a wall around Massachusetts.
Mitt just promises.......anything, but rarely acts on what he said. He's a classic democrat in that way.
As I remember, you're not willing to admit what candidate your supporting. Is that still true?
And Another thing we should ask Mitt hows Utah doing. I would guess after the Bennett thing not to well.
