Dave Weigel is standing by his man, providing a forum for renowned “creepy stalker,” known liar, and suspected plagiarist, Joe McGinniss. Friday evening he posted a piece called “Joe McGinniss talks about why he moved in next to Sarah Palin” in the Washington Post. Weigel was an obvious choice for McGinniss to use as his ‘message man’ considering Dave has shown sympathy for Joe’s disturbing behavior. Weigel was also taken to task by many bloggers (I’d love to link examples but there’s just too many) for his indefensible, defense of McGinnis, and rightfully so.

And McGinnis contradicts his son about how he came to rent the place. Seems like a mysterious third party was involved, a local Wasilla resident who was a mutual fired of the property owner and McGinnis. Could it be that one of the anklebiters who set this up?
Also, from the story, it looks like Mark’s revelation of this creep’s email address had a definite impact, forcing McGinnis to shut it down.

• The liberal Alaska blogger and Palin-hater Jesse Griffin (who attacks the Palin family every day, and tells his readers he knows that Sarah Palin is not the mother of her fifth child, and who advocates the even more lunatic conspiracy that there are in fact three different versions of her fifth child)
• The local Alaska Democratic Party office holder and Palin hater Phil Munger (who tells his readers that Governor Palin is a slut and a whore)
• The Alaska based Huffington Post correspondent and Palin hater Jeanne Devon (who has accused the Palins of being tax cheats, and who is BFF with Alaska based blogger Shannyn Moore, the person who announced mendaciously on MSNBC that the Palins were under federal investigation)

In much the same way the same way that “Clymer” became synonymous for the epithet with which it was associated by Dick Cheney, the name McGinniss should become synonymous for pervert. I wouldn’t even call him a stalker. Stalking is an activity in which he is currently engaged. “To stalk” is a verb. The proper noun (or synonym) for “a McGinniss” is “a pervert” (or “degenerate” or any other noun that describes the person). Why put a limit on the descriptive noun for this creep that makes him seem less harmless? No one has really looked into his background to see what lurks there. But underneath a sewer cap, one generally finds.....a sewer.
In fact, I think it would be an interesting contest to see how many different nouns exist in the English language that are synonymous with “a McGinniss”.
I googled “Joe McGinniss””stalker” and “Joe McGiniss””pervert” and got 35,800 and 1620 hits, respectively. Googling Roman Polanski with the same words, I got 18,200 and 107,000 respectively. I think it is time for a “McGinniss Surge” on the internet to overtake and displace Polanski as the reigning pervert of the Western world.

It probably did cause him to shut his email down. I didn’t think it was such a hot idea when Levin suggested it, giving an attention whore more attention and all. But hey what do I know.

He is going to fail and he is going to fail miserably. McGinniss and his friends in the world of yellow journalism are delighted that he's writing a salacious, unflattering book on Sarah Palin in time for the presidential races, which they hope will either derail her or distract her.
After all, that's the point and reason for his book.
