We all know that the gulf oil spill is bad, bad news, but have you thought of it this way?
The prophecy:
Revelation 16:3 - And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
Revelation 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
Imagine you are John on the Island of Patmos, almost 2000 years ago. Now imagine you were witnessing an oil spill about 2000 years into the future; with your current knowledge at that time how would you describe what the oil looked like on the water? Um.... Blood?
Now what does the blood of a dead man (or any animal for that matter) turn into after death? Um..... Fossil fuels?
If you seen the explosion of the oil rig when it occurred what would you describe it as? Now remember you have never seen a structure like this ever before in your life would you not think it a kin to a mountain?
Am I the only one that sees the connection?
I mean I am just throwing this out there......
I’m going with oil spill on this one.
Well that will pick you right up now won’t it? I am pretty deep in despair already, thinking things are the end times doesn’t make it any better.
As I recall, Nostradamus also prophesied a poison sea that killed all the sea life (I thought it would be the Aegean or the Med)
he also prophesied treachery caused by a man in a submarine or underwater delivery vehicle
No. If it was the End Times, it’d be much much worse than a mere oil spill.
Uh, NO.
Sometimes an oil spill is just an oil spill. We’ll live.

Oh for crying out loud.
I always took that verse to mean that it was the mountain crashing into the sea that caused the seawater to become corrupted. In any case, oil, being biological in nature (according to current theory) or at least based on organic chemistry, is food for some microscopic creatures, and is going to be processed by the biosphere within a year or two. Yes, some larger animals don’t deal well with big blobs of tar, but overall, the impact isn’t the “Silent Spring” event that the greens try to portray it as.
When the events described in the book of Revelation occur, there will be no doubt that they are what they are. The spill is nothing compared to the Revelation judgments.
Maybe - but on the other hand, I also try to reflect on when my emotions are simply being manipulated by media hype.
Forgot to add that, although most people are not aware of this, the floor of the gulf seeps oil constantly, and in far larger quantities than are being released by this particular well. Those seeps have had 0 impact on the environment over the past million years or more, and neither will this well. Sure, most seeps don’t put that much oil up into the upper water, but the earth does this kind of thing all the time without any help from us, and life always manages to overcome it. Don’t watch so much network tv news; you’re getting too worked up over what is from a geophysical perspective a really small incident.
Well think this is just another birth pain and they are growing in speed and intensity around the world, just look at the daily headlines it grows worse and worse by the day!
>>If it was the End Times, itd be much much worse than a mere oil spill.<<
Though I tend to agree with you, I have more of a “let’s let this play out and see” attitude. It probably is not what is referred to in the Bible, but it is not over yet.
I can see where the OP is coming from.

From what I've read about the End Times... believe me, we WILL know, and there will be no doubt at all about what is happening.
