Some stubborn facts about Raul Labrador
NoisyRoom.net ^ | 5-22-2010 | Carolyn Cooke

Trusting candidate Raul Labrador to represent the values of most Idaho voters is like believing Obamacare will reduce the federal deficit. The facts unravel the spin.

Fact: Immigration attorney Labrador fought to keep Javier Sotelo from deportation. He was convicted of smuggling illegal aliens and document fraud. The government introduced evidence at his immigration trial that Sotelo was wanted for murder in Mexico. Labrador could have recused himself after learning this, but did not. Fortunately, for Idaho citizens, Labrador failed.

Fact: Labrador represents illegal aliens in his practice.

Fact: Attorney Labrador has worked for the Idaho Dairymen’s Association, ardent supporters of Larry Craig’s AgJOBs amnesty, while serving as an “elected” representative. Yet Labrador likes to pretend there is no conflict of interest in serving his constituents on immigration issues!

Fact: Idaho Rep. Labrador voted against SB 1157, a bill that required verification of legal status to receive non-emergency taxpayer-funded public benefits.

Fact: Labrador wants more foreign guest workers, even though there are no jobs Americans will not do for living wages, in the face of sustained high unemployment.

Labrador likes to attack the messenger, but as Ronald Reagan said, “Facts are stubborn things.”

Say “no” to Raul Labrador in the 1st Congressional District race in the Republican primary.

There's a Labrador running for congress? I find them to be quite likable pooches.

This is turning into a very interesting primary. There are some conservative members of media and others that are painting Labradors opponent as bad for minor mishaps. Yet, they do not tell about this tale of Labradors or how he has missed votes in the state legislature for his law practice.

I would hope that the good people of Idaho would have better sense than to elect a Hispanic immigration lawyer to office at a time when the United States is virtually being invaded by Mexico.

I think some of us in Idaho may have a hard time voting for Ward because he seems to be a bit of a carpet bagger. Labrador at least fought against a whole slate of new taxes the state tried to pass last year. I'll admit I am unfamiliar with his views regarding immigration but I do know he is a fiscal conservative and fought hard to prevent raising taxes on us here in Idaho.

What if the “Hispanic immigration lawyer” was opposed to amnesty and has had a solidly conservative voting record on issue after issue in the Idaho legislature?

And what if his primary opponent had proven to be an incompetent candidate, kept plagiarizing stuff and would be a far riskier choice in the general election against the Democrat incumbent?

Raul Labrador is the conservative choice.

I know for a fact he’s not...

Please bring forth the evidence that Raul Labrador is in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens.

I already posted links that prove that Vaughn Ward is quite the plagiarist, even plagiarizing Barack Obama’s 2004 Democratic National Convention speech. Do you really think that Minnick is hoping that Labrador wins the primary?

“Please bring forth the evidence that Raul Labrador is in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens.”

No thanks, got it from a friend that knows him. I consider it an unimpeachable source since I trust this person. His word would mean nothing to you...

OK, no evidence then.

What does your friend have to say about Vaughn Ward being unable to come up with his own views on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and having to copy his position form another Republican’s website? http://voices.idahostatesman.com/2010/05/20/idahopolitics/three_veterans_including_two_gop_lawmakers_call_ward_quit_race

Or about how Ward apparently thought that it was a good idea to plagiarize Obama’s 2004 Democratic National Convention address in his speech announcing his candidacy?

Your stuff is all B.S., Hundreds of political speeches use all the same phrases. The famous saying credited to JFK, “ask not what...”, was actually sent to him in a letter from my father in law six months earlier. Almost word for word... So he liked the words and used them, so what?

IF Sarah Palin wants the other one, then I'm glad this one won.

I also want McPain to loose his seat - Sarah Palin is endorsing McPain too.

You can say that after reading this article???? Hmmmmm.....interesting that an scumbag Immigration Lawyer can get any support at all on a Conservative website. No wonder we’re in the friggin’ mess we’re in.

So do you want the people running against the rest of Sarah's endorsement to win as well?

Or did you just forget, conveniently, to mention the 90% of her endorsements that are awesome?

1. Nikki Haley
2. Michelle Bachmann
3. Scott Brown
4. Doug Hoffman
5. Rand Paul
6. Marco Rubio
7. Chris Christie
8. Bob McDonnell
9. Sean Duffy
10, Susana Martinez
11. Tom Emmer – MN Governor
12. Tim Burns - PA 12th Congressional District
13. Lt Colonel Allen West – FL Congressional District 22
14. Major Vaughn Ward - Idaho’s 1st Congressional District
15. Captain Adam Kinzinge - Illinois’ 11th Congressional District
16. Clint Didier – WA U.S. Senate
