Was Jesus a Socialist or a Capitalist?

Have you noticed that "capitalism" has become a 4-letter word to Democrats who espouse philosophies like socialism and communism? Some of these people not only bad mouth capitalists, they also denigrate Jesus, the Bible, Conservative Christians, Christianity ... basically everything and everyone Godly.

There are others who are simply confused. They do not understand the concepts they embrace or oppose, and they do not understand Jesus or the Bible. (example: Michael Moore: 'Capitalism is anti-Jesus')

Some have tried to paint a picture of Jesus as a socialist. Others claim that he was a capitalist. Everyone wants a Jesus in their own image. Everyone wants this great teacher to be on their side. Can we tell from his teachings if he would advocate one side or the other? ...

A supreme ruler of the world, I suspect His “political ideology” would be His own, not something devised by man.

God is a Libertarian.

He wants everyone to follow Him, but He does not make it happen.

He allows evil to reign, even though He could stop it in a moment.

He lets us choose to do anything we want, but He knows that the consequences will be paid in the end.

All of this to allow us to choose Him.

Jesus is a Savior. No need for his views on socio-political beliefs. Nuff said.

Thou shalt not steal..... This certainly leaves no room for redistribution of wealth.....

God’s kingdom runs on 10% and 10 laws. He must be Republican.

Jesus told the parable of the “Talents” where he spoke of rewarding the “good servant” who invested his masters money. And comndemning the “bad servant” who did nothing. He also spoke of giving your OWN money to the poor, not relying on Caesar to distribute it. But Caesar just kept tax money for HIMSELF.

During an argument with my lib sister last week (after 2am, five beers), she (who had recently “found Jesus”) claimed,
“When Jesus raized Lazarus, he didn’t ask for his insurance card!”

Of course, Jesus didn’t “rob Peter to pay Paul” either, but that is lost on this libs.

I don’t recall Jesus stealing a dime/sheckle/farthing for his causes or for his needs.

Actually, the question might be phrased, “Is capitalism or socialism more in line with biblical economic teachings?”

the answer is Capitalism.

Even in the millennium, every man will dwell under his vine and his fig tree.

And then the injunction in the NT, “If any man does not work neither shourl he eat.”

Yes Jesus was for fundamentally changing people. Jesus first message to the general population in Mark was “Repent and Believe the Gospel. He wished all to be included or providing the opportunity to all. He said he was the only way to salvation as well. Repent means change direction turn and go the other way. Believe means trust in rely on as in trust in rely on Jesus for your salvation. Jesus desired that none should perish while knowing many would choose to be unchanged or unrepentant. Jesus is the ultimate change agent but is not into force but freedom of choice while providing a way to best serve humanity and one another.

Michael Moore: 'Capitalism is anti-Jesus'

Michael Moore is both anti-Capitalism and anti-Jesus.
How could those all be true?

Actually, Moore is pro-capitalism when it comes to his movies making money!
