Democrat Mark Critz has defeated Republican challenger Tim Burns in the special election for the House seat formerly held by the late John Murtha in Pennsylvania's 12th district

The Specter/Sestak race greatly increased Dem turnout for this election. Not a huge worry for November.
PA 12 is HOPELESS.
Well that is dispiriting.
I have to laugh as I hear FOX news describing this as a rural “socially conservative” district. Who is defining conservative for them? It is dissapointing but not surprising after Murtha showed so much hatred toward his fellow marines and the stupid PA voters put him back again.
Rand won in Tennessee, Specter lost in Pennsylvania, and it looks like Lincoln will go to a run off race in Arkansas (she will likely lose a run off). Burn’s loss, while painful, is only a small loss in the war.
They’ll get what they asked for...
But who won the Republican Primary?
But isn’t Critz a VERY conservative Dem?
Burns - so it will be a rematch in Nov.
I kinda expected a Democrat to still take Murtha’s seat. This LOCAL race is difficult to win. The Dems outnumber the GOP in this district by a HUGE margin.
It’s kinda like Charlie Rangel’s position in NYC. His district will continue to vote for him even if there were a video showing him murdering someone. He’s got his position for life.
Well that sucks.
Oooh, it BURNS!!
I can’t wait to hear all the excuses about how Tim Burns was a terrible candidate and the rain and boo, hoo, hoo!
Seems like no media, from left to right wing, knows what the hell they are talking about.
Sounds like the garbage dump bears in PA have acquired a taste for pork.
I call those voters ignoranuses.
Yes, you have to figure a district that elected Murtha for all those years doesn’t have the most discriminating taste.
They get what they deserve.
LOL... totally mythical.
It’s no wonder when the GOP have leaders like John Cornyn who want the healthcare bill, and only disagree with Obama on,
minor issues.”
What do you expect. The nitwits in this district sent Murtha to DC for 38 years. I never expected Burns to win, I hoped he might but really have NO confidence in PA voters.
