Kagan on Obama circa 2005
The American Thinker ^ | May 11, 2010 | Greg Halvorson

By now, anyone with a working knowledge of narcissism recognizes the pathological condition of the president. Even liberals concede that the man who sends thrills up Chris Mathews' leg is self-absorbed.

It therefore makes sense that Elena Kagan, his Solicitor General, is the SCOTUS nominee. In 2005, at a Harvard luncheon, Ms. Kagan waxed eloquent on Obama. She'd had the "privilege" of attending the DNC National Convention the year before and had experienced rapture:

"He opened his mouth, said a few words, and the place was mesmerized. You could hear a pin drop. In part, that is because of all the rock star qualities he has: the eloquence, the magnetism, the great looks, the brilliance. When he opens his mouth, you know what you're getting."

Harvard Law’s Dean has no morals.
She directed Obama’s growth accompanied by no truth, no documentation, and a usurpation of justice.

That's a good example of the deep and insightful policy analysis we've come to expect from our Supreme Court Justices... At least the liberal ones.

“Kagan: “(Obama) has: the eloquence””

Sure. “not the means to e-pants-apation.” (instead of ‘emancipation’)

Just this ‘eloquence’ comment alone is enough to identify her as someone who shouldn't be on the court. Unbelievable.

Funny how no-one ever calls a liberal out on her clearly evident racism - what she's actually remarking about is that she cannot believe a black man could be so articulate; no ebonics, no gutter-talk. That's the purest racism, and if a conservative had had the temerity to say the same thing, he or she would never have heard the end of it.

“But leave it to an inexperienced rookie in a high office to try and appoint another inexperienced rookie.”

I agree, but it goes well beyond inexperience. He is motivated by an ideology driven agenda. We are, by the way, ceding control of our country to a group of like-minded inexperienced academics. The country would be much better off if we excluded Ivy League graduates or faculty from public office for at least the next decade.

Keep in mind that part of the objective of Obama's stint at Harvard was to learn about power...
Obama, in his 1995 memoir, said he wanted to go to Harvard Law School to "learn power's currency in all its intricacy," with the goal of "making large-scale change" as a national politician.

Since he didn't have money or political power in those days, Obama apparently focused his energy in understanding personal power...and that means the development of an "aura" of power even when there is no substance to support it.

He apparently worked to refine his image and style...his manner of speaking and carriage. Not a lot different than stagecraft actually.

I have known several folks to become quite successful using this technique.

But it overlooks a major point. Most people don't use a highly-stylized appearance, opting instead for a genuineness which reveals their character and substance.

Most successful people have an attitude of "what you see is what you get!"

Obama, on the other hand, is all outward appearance. It may be mesmerizing to the weakminded, but it is all FAKE!

He opened his mouth, said a few words, and the place was mesmerized. You could hear a pin drop. In part, that is because” we patronize minorities so. Bush once called our attitude “the soft prejudice of low expectations”. Couldn’t tell you what this guy’s done, because he hasn’t really done anything, but he sure sounded good.

Except the ‘palinites’ you deride actually listen to what she says, and stands for.

She’s not ‘perfect’, and I’m not a ‘palinite’, but I like what she actually ACCOMPLISHED in Alaska over what Obama wrote about in Illinois, and certainly more than what he’s accomplished in the White House.

Then obviously I wasn’t writing about you but there are more than a few here who gush with similar if not even more hyperbolic worship at the mention of her name.
