Pawlenty to Minnesota DFL: Tax Hikes Not an Option (Pawlenty Builds Conservative Street Cred)
ATR ^ | 5/11/10 | Joshua Culling

After legislative Democrats in Minnesota got what they wished for in terms of a Supreme Court decision undermining Gov. Tim Pawlenty's unallotment authority, they are now scrambling to plug a budget hole approaching $3 billion. Their first instinct? A $400 million job-killing income tax increase, of course...This will be an epic battle with a Democratic majority hell-bent on raising taxes by arguing that they've spent themselves so deeply into the red that the only solution is higher taxes. Gov. Pawlenty has pledged to stand firm and call them on that bluff...

Pawlenty, hmmmmm? In Minnesota we know who he is. A button pushing RHINO, who wants to green the economy, loves light rail, and pals around with McCain and Graham. Sooo, Andrea you trollin from Virginia for Pawlenty, seems a we bit suspect.

DFL > "But Gov, it's really only just another FEE."

Yep, Pawlenty has been a good bench-warmer for Democrats to pick-up right where they left off at, like Congressional Republicans in majority pre-2006.

I’m not his supporter. It’s still way to early to support anyone; we need to let 2010 play out first. What I am noting, is that Pawlenty currently is trying to get Fiscal Conservative support from this gambit. And despite my ambivalence about some of his record too, he may yet succeed...

Yeah. I don’t get it. Pawlenty has to know he is just spinning his wheels with this exploratory Presidential bid nonsense. If not, then his arrogance preceeds him.

If I’m not mistaken, Pawlenty’s fiscal cred has always been fairly solid. It’s his AGW support and weakness on social issues has been his achilles heel.
