What are we to make of the five students who were temporarily suspended by the administration at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill for purportedly seeking to provokeby the wearing of various American flag insignia, no lessMexican-American students who were at the time celebrating, with some Mexican flags, Cinco de Mayo Day?
Or, in the words of aggrieved student Annicia Nunez, as picked up by the news services, I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican heritage day. We dont deserve to get disrespected like that. We wouldnt do that on Fourth of July.
Let us deconstruct this episode to discover, if we can, the proverbial teachable moment of this collective farce.
I. First, the five male students. Were the flag-wearers provoking Mexican-American participants in Cinco de Quatro Mayo festivities? Sort of, but more likely it seems that they were perhaps chiding the idea of Mexican ethnic chauvinism, and doing so in a particularly ironic fashion by appearing in American patriot gear par excellence.....

The flag became inflammatory because WE AMERICANS have been too effin’ tolerant for too effin’ long. We might as well nip this illegal immigration thing in the bud NOW or it’ll be Civil War II later. No sense kicking the can of inevitability down the road as we have been doing.
I demand my right to live in your racist, hatefilled nation you fascist cracker!

i say, to hell with it, and let’s just get on to the war. It’s coming anyway, and I would rather fight it myself than to make my kids fight it.

Not even if you were in Mexico, little darling?
Yep and not getting any younger either.
Pretty much sums it up.
Better men than me have died defending the Constitution. I’d be humbled to be in their ranks.
Another thing to p*ss me off: conservative outlets like pajamas media so stuffed with google spam (or just call it malware) that they’re well nigh unreadable...
If their heritage and culture is soooo great that they need to force it on everyone else, and if they are so proud of their roots . then why must they keep sneaking over here?!
Consider what would happen if one took American flags to a St. Patrick's Day celebration. Riots? Loud words? Not with any Irish I know. It's one thing to celebrate your national heritage while thanking God you're finally an American!
The Aztlan/MecHa/La Raza/Maldef bunch are waging low-intensity war with this country, using Alinsky methods in concert with white anti-American radicals. The sooner the broad American public accepts that fact, the sooner we'll begin to assert our principles as a nation again. If we don't we're heading rapidly for 3rd World status.
If you are so hot about Mexican heritage move to Mexico!
http://www.nationalflagday.com/GetInvolved.asp National Flag Day Foundation. As we have done every year we will Honor our flag on Flag Day June 14th.
It's strictly an economic transaction for the illegals. Some will eventually seek to become legal, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they want to integrate into society. It likely means that they don't want to live under threat of deportation.
This is a good idea
the longer we wait the retake our country the more illegals will be here and the more we have to get rid of
Here’s my humble opinion: The Ass Principal decided there was a smaller possibility the US Flag students would riot than the probability the Mexican Flag students would riot. All he cared about was preventing a riot, not free speech for anybody.
Final analysis: Principal knows the Mexicans are far more violent than the Americans. A sad commentary indeed. Pretty racist if you ask me.
Actually, it might not be racist; as the principal is scared of Mexicans in America but not of Americans of Mexican descent (which several of the kids wearing flag shirts were)
I agree with you 100%.
When they had one of the Fathers and Sons on Fox News last week, I kept waiting for the Father or the son to say just once something like "THIS IS AMERICA!!"
Because thats the most obvious problem with the whole ugly mess!! And they didn't say it!! Almost like it never even occurred to them that this really IS America. And if someone tells you that you can't be proud of that, punch them right in the mouth and kick their @$$ back to wherever they came from.
I guess it's partly a California thing. You can drop that whole state in the ocean as far as I'm concerned.
