May 9, 2010- Obama, during the Hampton University commencement speech stated, "Meanwhile, you're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't rank all that high on the truth meter. With iPods and iPads; Xboxes and PlayStations;none of which I know how to work, information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than a means of epantsapation (emancipation?). All of this is not only putting new pressures on you; it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy."
Love the way Progressive Fascists all scream for “diversity” until it comes to diversity of information then they want strict government controls imposed
I’m thinking that Axlerod spelled it wrong.
Yes, but what News are we going to receive from Xbox or Playstation?
To say this to a whole group of young people whose expertise in technology outstrips their parents on a regular basis is just weird and non-sensical. You want to come between a young person and his ipod? Her Xbox? Their cell phones with various apps?
Good point, apparently all video games must now be programed with an opening add praising Dear Reader for his great leadership
“some of which don’t rank all that high on the truth meter.”
Like you, liar!
According to this story, Obama ran campaign ads on “Guitar Hero” and nine Xbox Live games from Electronic Arts Inc., including “Madden 09,” “Nascar 09,” “NBA Live 08” and “NHL 09”

I wonder if anyone there axed him what he pacifically meant by epantsapation.
“Im thinking that Axlerod spelled it wrong.”
Could be, or perhaps when Obama saw “man” in the body of the word, he thought “pants”. Guess will never know.

Yes, do as we say, not as we do!
Hey! Last I knew, it was the Secret Service who unsuccessfully tried to epantsipate B-HO from his own Crackberry. B-HO insisted that he was going to keep it, despite the security risk. The department had to specially modify it - so that he could keep his pants and his obvious tech addiction.
I thought he was the “hip” and “cool” president. I thought he was “in” with the younger generation, you know, the generation that he desperately needed to vote him in.
Truth is our Marxist Messiah can’t deal with the truth. Truth will set us free. The mutts in power will do all they can to keep the truth from the people as they keep spinning the news with their comarads in the state run media.
I can surf the internet on my Playstation. I can get Free Republic on my TV sitting in my living room — AND comment on it.
IIRC, there were some games that had Obama ads in them prior to the election. Madden's football game comes to mind. Also, I picked up Guitar Hero 5 (no, I don't have 1-4) and I swear that at times the back of the lead guitarist's guitar has an Obama sticker on it (can't get a good enough look at it).
I picked up Guitar Hero 5, and have been playing it off and on for more than a year. It would have been the version available for an ad. While I haven't seen outright ads for Obama on it, I do see something that looks like an Obama sticker on the back of the lead guitarist's guitar. Of course, I only play in quickplay mode, so the venue never changes, just the song, so that may be why I haven't seen any ads.
Never mind. It would have been before GH 5. Got my dates wrong. For some reason, I thought I’d had GH 5 longer than a year, but the official release date appears to be last September - but I could swear I’ve been failing at playing it for more than a year.
The Obama-Epantsapation is in full swing.
