Currently, straight, Anglo, Christians receive much more negative press than ANY other identifiable group in the world!
This is really a brilliant, and quite cynical, strategy by Team Obama that accomplishes multiple objectives. His almost unverisally gay-friendly supporters are now more likely to learn that Obama has appointed the first gay SC Justice. They will love Big Brother even more.
At the same time, those who find this sort of thing unseemly are denied the opportunity to criticize it. That is, if one mentions Romans 1, he can be shot down with I Timothy 5:13 et al. Other fair-minded non-Obamatons will give the nominee the benefit of the doubt even though the doubt here is a merely the creation of the Obama media machine.
This is really pretty clever on their part.

I do not think she has addressed the matter at all. Zero’s White House has done all the talking on the matter, with the drive by’s doing the rest.
Good question. I am not sure but I'll posit two theories. It could be both of these apply and/or others.
1. There are far fewer lesbian women than straight women so they can't be as choosy.
2. Lesbian women that play the mommy role may somehow like butch looking women.
