SARAH PALIN SHAKES UP CALIFORNIA (AND THE NATION) ENDORSES CARLY FIORINA

If you notice, Sarah had to do a little bit of an update. It seems that some don’t understand why Sarah made this bold move and endorsed Carly over Chuck DeVore who some consider the “real” conservative. Though I’m in Texas, both I and my West Coast buddy Stacy Drake kind of liked Chuck DeVore.. We hoped Sarah would take a look at Chuck.

The thing is, Sarah did take a look Chuck as well as Carly, in context of the big picture. Here’s the deal, extensive polling shows that DeVore had peaked, and was backing up, losing ground, while liberal “Republican” Tom Campbell was barely edging out Carly for the nomination. Sarah looked at this and knew she had to shake things up.

Electing Tom Campbell would be like giving Barbara “Don’t Call Me Ma’am” Boxer another six years. Campbell is not simply a RINO (Republican in name only) he is, to borrow from Mark Steyn, a DIABLO (Democrat in all but name only)

Let me clarify, your post was so negative in tone that it fits the rest of your anti-Palin posting, that was not praise.

Praise is when you manage to put a pleasant spin on Mitt Romney and his doings.

This is what I heard from HP employees.

First, before Carly, HP really tried to protect its employees and tried to not have layoffs. This built lots of loyalty for the company. Under Carly there were layoffs.

Also, there was a certain HP culture, and that’s what made employees happy. Carly didn’t care about the culture.

If the company would have done fantastic financially, then maybe her changes would have made sense, but I don’t think that was the case.

I get the feeling that she was the type of CEO that would easily outsource jobs to save money.

I don’t know this for a fact, but I’ve heard bad things about Carly for years. I live in the Silicon Valley, so we hear these things.

No, I actually support what Sarah Palin did, which is why I wrote positively about her actions.

I hope you’re not going to belittle Sarah Palin again in an attempt to show how much you support her.

It’s only “negative” if you disagree with her endorsement.

It’s a shame when Palin supporters suggest that what she is doing is “negative”, in their attempts to defend her.

But her actions are winning out over the spin. It’s getting harder and harder for that subset of her supporters to continue to deny that she is making rational, thoughtful decisions. It’s near impossible to keep claiming that she is just “doing what is expected”, or “showing loyalty”, as if she would endorse lesser candidates that she didn’t really think were the best choices.

That is silly, voter support trumps all.

I see that you are up to your usual cutesy ways of trolling and playing with words, I do wish that you would get a testosterone dose someday and start posting like an honest man.

Sarah has voiced her support for McNasty and Crist.... I don’t need to third endorsement (Fiorina) for me to form an opinion.

It’s like 2010, Palin may well be running for President, and you are still stuck battling ghosts from 2008.

Most of us have moved on. There are serious problems to be solved, and serious decisions to be made. Living in the past is a luxury the serious folks can’t afford.

We know that she has publicly expressed her support for Rubio.

A formal endorsement has not been seen as useful yet because Palin is too conservative to be helpful to Rubio as yet, if at all, if Rubio starts bleeding conservatives then Palin is willing to step in and give him a boost.

Perhaps we need a batting average on Sarah or maybe a handicapping list in honor of the Derby season.

Nice lady, but a little short on issues.

She’s a pragmatist who knows the Republicans (and onservatives) are far better off getting a half-conservative vote from CA than a 100% loony leftist vote from the state. Fiorina is a better option than Campbell, though far from perfect. And DeVore hasn’t got a realistic chance.

If you can then you need to look at the two situations, Rubio has the conservative base sewn up and wants to spread out and sell himself to the moderates, how does Palin help that?

Carly is desperate for conservatives to take her out of second place against Campbell, a Palin endorsement definitely helps there, but you won’t see Palin with Carly in the general.

If Crist bleeds off some conservatives from Rubio and puts his race in the general election in jeopardy, then you may see Palin there to shore up Rubio.

Endorsements are not just made blindly like creating a “favorites” list, they have to serve a constructive purpose for the recipient, and they have to be timed correctly. An endorsement is merely a marketing tool, it isn’t a list of who someone likes or not and it isn’t applied across the board.
